The four adventurers met for the first time (except the twins had already met, obviously).
The group enjoyed the festival together and a couple of them managed to win prizes in some of the competitions available.
The group came home to Wadesten after their short stay in Sandholm.
The group started a journey to Solmine via horse and cart but realised that Rona could transport via plants and so they turned around and asked her for help.
After a very brief trip to Sandholm, Aon waited until the rest stepped through the tree portal to Wadesten and gave Noa a couple of letters before pushing him through. Aon let the portal close and stayed in Sandholm.
Bell found out that Jewelie is pregnant and Chloe and Noa asked Rona to get them quickly to Sandholm. Rona was happy to oblige. Lander, the temporary member of the group, tagged along. While in Sandholm, they found Aon at the mage tower but he did not return with them.
Astraea a.k.a the Duke of Whispers a.k.a Whisper left for Sandholm to talk to Queen Alydee Sarric about Delmore Gildenstern.
The end of the year brought several important events but the fact that giant vines wrapped around the palace and killed everyone inside was probably the most noteworthy.
During Delmore Gildenstern's new year's afterparty, King Hatharal Sarric arrested him for treason.
Thanks to oil of etherealness and Chloe's skills she managed to find and bring Astraea's body out of Sandholm Palace. Rona, with help from the twins and Godfrey, then managed to reincarnate Astraea as a tiefling.
The group went to Solmine through transport via plants and then acquired a carriage and two horses from Solenress to start their journey to Coldsnap.
The group had found Enna and brought her with them to Solmine. There they split the party and things went wrong.
Chloe, Noa and Aon found out that Astraea is the bastard of the previous king, and the late Queen Alydee's half-sister.
Chloe's 23rd birthday was spent on the road while the group travelled to fight a dragon.
The group found the lair to the young green dragon named Argam. There they fought and defeated many kobolds and Argam himself. However, they also lost Noa - or what turned out to be a clone of him probably made by the wizard Morcant Grummow.
As the three remaining party members began to travel back towards Sandholm they came across a firbolg named Yelro. At first they had no idea that he was a firbolg as he spent the first few hours with them as a sloth. He was allowed to travel with them for the time being as they were headed to the same place.
On the day the party got back to Sandholm, Aon set out to break his pact with Celestian in order to become stronger. With help from the headmaster of the Mage Tower, Aon found a way to break the pact. In the process he lost one eye and his familiar, Star. It turned out that Star was an angel in disguise and as she left she gave Aon the gift of making up for the time he had lost in his sorcery power, taking away what he had gained as a warlock.
Peace negotiations were held between Eischland and Yraldrig out on the lake Storja on an Ashoedan ship. King Hatharal met with three of the Yraldrigan Grand Marshals: Roberta Sinclair, Myron Reed and Ivar Anderberg. The meeting was short and fruitless and it became clear that war was inevitable.
The group attended to some personal matters and shopping before they left Sandholm to travel to Bricksten.
During the morning a squad of Yraldrigan soldiers attacked Bricksten. Demetrius insisted on staying to help fight them and reluctantly the party agreed. With their help the battle turned to Eischland's favour and the surviving soldiers of the Yraldrigan squad retreated. The battle was not without losses on Eischland's side and on a more personal note, Yelro's spider friend Susan died in the fight.
The group journeyed from Bricksten together with Demetrius. The travel was fairly uneventful except for some possible revelations that were pieced together with Demetrius' help. They realised that Mika'Ela might be Mika Sarric, the first Queen of Eischland, making her over a thousand years old. Added to that was the possibility of her husband, the first King, might have been a runechild like Aon. During their time travelling through a forest, Yelro left his remaining spider friends, Fred and Francis, and asked them to stay there and wait for his return.
After they left Inhonoris the group travelled for four days before reaching the estate of Morcant Grummow, the mage who had taken Noa and Enna in Solmine. They took a night's rest before heading into the cold stone mansion before sunrise. With clever use of spells and magic items, they managed to avoid detection and any traps and Demetrius' lock picking skills came in handy.
While they were on a brief trip to Solmine, Sonata found out that Solenress had been beaten by her mother. Sonata was angry about this so she enlisted Noa's help in "pranking" her stepmother's mother. They stole some eggs and then egged her house. Noa also shot a bolt through one of the windows when Sonata asked him to break it. Afterwards they ran away as a chained dog in the yard barked at them.
After helping Yelro with the petrified people at Grummow's estate and getting them over the border to Ashoedan, Yelro sent Demetrius to Sandholm to be with Sonata. As such Demetrius managed to make it one day before the Yraldrigan army arrived at Sandholm's walls.
The Yraldrigan army reached the outer wall of Sandholm and began a siege on the city after having been able to break through in an initial attack.
Chloe asked Noa to marry her during a midnight walk in Sandholm and he said yes. She gave him a ring with a death ward enchantment placed upon it.
During late evening when Demetrius was walking Sonata back home to her mother's theatre they were attacked by a mysterious drow. He cut Sonata down and was well on his way to stabbing the life out of Demetrius as well but Noa and Chloe came to save them after Demetrius had sent his bat, Hattie, to get them. They managed to defeat the drow and killed him. Sonata thought that there may be a resemblance between the drow and Solenress, her stepmother. Perhaps he was sent out by Solenress' mother to kill Sonata after her prank in Solmine.
Noa was woken up by his newly acquired sword speaking to him. He learnt that her name is Gloom and that she can give him power, all she asked for in exchange was the blood of his enemies. He accepted her offer and thus gained one level and unlocked more of her powers.
The Four Dragons attended a meeting at the mage tower in Sandholm. There they learnt that Astraea had managed to infiltrate the inner sanctum of The Saphiren Fortress and had obtained items that would help headmaster Wenna Penketh and Archmage Elowen Genvalur teleport two teams right into the belly of the beast. Meanwhile an army from Inhonoris would provide a distraction outside the city's walls. Hopefully killing or capturing all of the Grand Marshals of Yraldrig would lead to a swifter end of the war.
After the meeting at the mage tower in Sandholm, the Four Dragons and Demetrius travelled to Solmine via Wadesten and Rona's transport via plants. There they went to Judge Moldiira Olifar with their evidence of the assassination attempt on Sonata upon which Chandra Hune, Solenress' mother, was apprehended and confessed to her crimes saying that they were the right thing to do and that they should go back to the old ways of the Underdark drow. Chandra was imprisoned and the Four Dragons and Demetrius returned to the mage tower in Sandholm.
The Four Dragons, Demetrius, Godfrey, the wizard Steve, and a dragonborn cleric named Sovys Ardid were teleported into the heart of The Saphiren Fortress by headmaster Wenna Penketh. There they ended up in the war room where four of the five Grand Marshals were present together with two guards.
King Hatharal stood on the wall surrounding Sandholm and delivered a speech to the Yraldrigan army besieging the city. Once he was done, soldiers of the army turned on each other and the events of the previous day combined with the contents of King Hatharal's speech started a new civil war in Yraldrig.
The twins had their 24th birthday and aside from getting them gifts, Chloe and Sonata arranged a surprise party for them at Aziza's theatre, inviting family and friends... and Lander. Yelro was also there and having been brought to Sandholm a couple of days before the day of the party he decided to awaken the Four Dragons' other horse Flurry to give Coco a friend. He also decided to awaken Demetrius' horse Penelope.
Kaelynn had asked the group to accompany her to Inhonoris so that she could confront her father, Chloe's grandfather, about what he did to her and her family. She had also asked that they not kill him or harm him unless necessary in self defence as she did not want to stoop to his level. Kaelynn confronted Averus with the group present (Demetrius included) and could leave her fear behind her. Chloe, by using the message cantrip, threatened Averus and told him that she would come for him and definitely kill him. They were not empty threats and Chloe is biding her time, waiting for the right moment to strike...
The Four Dragons were invited to be part of a ceremony honouring them and the others who had gone to The Saphiren Fortress to save Princess Ralenna. Many of the others chose not to be a part of the ceremony itself but some of them attended as audience members. Princess Ralenna gave a short speech and then she announced that for their bravery they would be knighted into the Order of the Gilded Stars, protectors of the kingdom - the highest honour that can be bestowed upon citizens of Eischland. Aon, Chloe, Noa, Sonata, the dragonborn cleric Sovys Ardid and the half-elf wizard Stephen "Steve" Woodward are now the only current knights of that Order.
Jewelie gave birth to her and Bell's son, Julian Christopher Summerlight.
The group went to talk to Mika'Ela in Wadesten. She revealed that she knows why nature has been acting strange and destroying things and killing people. A thousand years ago her husband, Wolfram Gildenstern, made a wish to live for as long as nature lived around him. The wish backfired and nothing can live around him as he sucks the life force right out of it. Mika'Ela got him to the Dead Isles (that had another name before this) and managed to create a magical perimeter around them so that Wolfram's corruption won't spread to the rest of the prime material plane. The nature of his wish won't allow him to accept death and anyone who has tried to end his life before has failed and perished on the isles.
The group reached Solmine after learning a few days previous through Rona's scrying that it had been burned down and destroyed at least partially. Upon entering the town the group found that the entirety of the town as well as the farms around it had been burned, collapsed or destroyed with various means. Countless bodies were cut down and/or burnt, including Sonata's stepmother, and her half-brothers, Selarius and Chadal.
Rona performed the reincarnate spell on Solenress and through the help of Sonata, Selarius and Chadal it was successful. Solenress returned with the new body of a stout halfling. For now, she and her sons will be staying in the Four Dragons' apartment in Wadesten which they still had a month's rent paid for.
The Four Dragons began their journey back to Solmine, this time with Rona joining them. With her help they got there a little bit faster this time and towards the end of the day they headed into the collapsed tunnel that the Underdark drow had made.
During their journey down towards the Underdark, the group met a drow woman with dyed red hair. They mistrusted her at first but they found out that she was a survivor from Solmine and had tracked the attackers to what appeared to be their stopping point and now she was heading back to ask for help. She believed that the attackers had captured her wife along with some other townspeople. As such she formed an alliance with the group to go rescue the other survivors and she guided them for days alongside the underground river leading deeper into the Underdark.
After several days of journeying in the Underdark, they finally reached the cave where the Underdark drow had made camp. They were using the captured from Solmine as slaves and builders, apparently starting the process of establishing a new town closer to the surface.
This day marks one year since Aon and Noa first met Chloe and Sonata and they forged a tentative alliance for their first job as an adventuring party.
Sabal Hune arrived in Wadesten together with his son Orilion Shamarys - unknown to Sonata up until now. Sonata took Sabal and Orilion to see Solenress, Selarius and Chadal in their new bodies. Sonata also confronted Sabal with her thoughts and feelings she's had since learning what he did to her mother. She found out later that day that Sabal had left again, taking Orilion with him.
The Four Dragons asked Rona to cast Transport via Plants for them once more. They headed to the closest tree Rona knew to Solmine again to start their journey to Coldsnap where Sonata wanted to find her mother's parents.
Marwan and Rasha Wasem turned out to be easy to find. The first guard Sonata asked directed her to the governor's abode as apparently her grandfather was governor for the Bonfire Ward in Coldsnap.
After a week spent in Coldsnap, going ice skating and skiing and having snowball fights among other things, the Four Dragons returned to the governor's abode where Marwan and Rasha were all packed and ready to go to Sandholm. Seeing that their assistant, a dragonborn girl named Gricoria Faldralimir, was incredibly upset about them leaving, Sonata invited her to come along as well and she happily agreed and hurried to pack a bag. Once they were all gathered again, Aon cast teleportation circle to bring them to Sandholm.
Sonata came back to the group's mansion in Sandholm and found that she had a letter waiting on her from her father, Sabal. The contents of which are down below.
Sonata celebrated her birthday first with a picnic arranged by Demetrius. Then later in the day they threw a party at Aziza's theater, complete with the performance of a play.
Time went by as the group had decided to do their own separate things for a while. Sonata was part of the war efforts in Yraldrig. Noa and Chloe went to Thelha Alora to explore the island and learn more about wood elf culture. Aon was gone for the longest amount of time and when he came back he brought with him a partner, Ephemera, and a five year old biological son named Seraph. Aon himself was seven years older than when he left as plane hopping can lead to some interesting consequences.
The Four Dragons brought Ephemera a.k.a Star and Seraph with them to Wadesten to meet Godfrey and Astraea. During their time there an earthquake happened. The party decided to go investigate if they could find the cause but there was nothing to be found. They decided to stay in Wadesten during the night in case something happened but Star and Seraph went back to Sandholm.
Before returning with the group to Sandholm, Sonata decided to pay a visit to Mimris who she hadn't talked to in over a year. She found out that Mimris died in the war in Yraldrig.
Sonata's grandmother, Rasha, came to speak to her about Marwan, Sonata's grandfather, wanting to go back to Coldsnap because of weird disappearances of people from the Bonfire Ward and rumours of a cult. Rasha asked Sonata if she would go instead in order to put Marwan's mind at ease without him having to travel so far. Sonata agreed and the Four Dragons together with Demetrius headed on the quite long journey up north, bringing their horses, Coco, Flurry, Flower and Penelope with them.
During the group's travel to Coldsnap they journeyed through the Humduff Forest which happened to be the home of Yelro's tribe. They stumbled across each other and Yelro invited the group to stay with him for the rest of the day. The group accepted and spent the night in Yelro's hut before continuing on.
The group spoke to the new governor of the Bonfire Ward, Elesbaan Danichew, and though he couldn't help them with a lot of information he did give them a letter allowing them to see the captain of the Coldsnap guards. The captain didn't want to give them any information seeing as how they were both outsiders and long lived, but his aide, Narina Faldralimir, convinced him that they should be allowed to fix the mess as an outsider had started it in the first place. So the captain sent Narina with them.
The Four Dragons travelled with Demetrius and Narina up to the northern mountains via dogsleds. On the day before they were due to arrive at the entrance to the mining tunnels they saw a shape climbing up the mountain. It spread its impressive wings and roared before climbing back down the other side of the mountain. A dragon, impressive enough to be seen from such a distance away. After that, the group tried to be stealthier in their approach and reached the tunnels without any incidents.
The Four Dragons and Demetrius set out to explore the mining tunnels while Narina headed back to Coldsnap to warn the city about the dragon. The group came across a big block of ice blocking off one of the tunnels leading by an off limits area. In the ice they could see frozen bodies of Coldsnap guards. Once they had ascertained the location of the cult, Chloe used Sending to ask Sabal to come see Sonata by the blockage. Sonata, still hoping that her father wasn't the cult leader, was disappointed as he responded in the affirmative. They had a conversation and Sabal said that he would help Sonata kill the dragon if that was what she desired. After Sabal had gone back to the dragon's lair, the group decided that they had to kill the dragon before it healed enough to go destroy Coldsnap.
After devising a plan together with Sabal, the Four Dragons made their way to Sarovunun's lair. There Noa, Chloe, Aon and Demetrius hid while Sonata went with Sabal to get the attention of Sarovunun and get her down to ground level. Their plan worked perfectly and the battle against the ancient dragon was surprisingly short. None of the cult members stepped in to join the fight either, mostly seeming frightened and confused by the development.
After the death of Sarovunun, Sabal took the group aside and told them about a plan he had created. In order for him not to be turned in to authorities in Coldsnap, they were to fake his death in front of the other cult members and then hide him away. While they were staging their fight, something happened as Noa cut into Sabal with Gloom, his sentient sword. Gloom became stuck in Sabal and the shadows around the blade were released and briefly formed the shape of a dwarf to the side. She regained her memories of her life before her soul was trapped in the sword and her soul was released, leaving a normal blade behind. Gloom's actual name was Branlynn and she had been a guard from Hilboldir before she was taken into captivity by drow and tortured by someone from the house of Duskrynd - the same house that Sabal was born into.
The group spent days at a mining camp in the mountain, waiting for Narina to come back with more dogsleds to transport them and the civilians back to Coldsnap. Sabal remained hidden the entire time, often guarded by Demetrius.
Once they had made it back to Coldsnap, Narina was able to get them into the Bonfire Ward without having alerted the Council of Elders. Chloe and Sonata went to see Governor Elesbaan Danichew and gave him part of their loot from the dragon's lair to help rebuild and make things better for people of the Bonfire Ward. He was incredibly grateful for their help and generosity.
The Four Dragons, along with Demetrius, Sabal, and the horses made the long journey back to Sandholm. Sonata was filled with emotion and heavy thought the entire way back, not sure whether she could go through with having Sabal arrested. Once they reached the journey's end, Sonata did decide to stand back and let the Sandholm guards arrest Sabal the moment they entered the city.
The trial of Sonata's father, Sabal, was a short one as he had chosen to confess his actions in Frost Forge. It was comprised of his account of the events and his actions and Sonata speaking as a character witness. After a roughly 45 minute deliberation by princess Ralenna, who was acting as judge, and her council Sabal was sentenced to one hundred years in prison.
During breakfast at the Four Dragons mansion, a sudden incredibly intense rain began pouring from the previously clear sky. The group decided to investigate and found a hard line where the rainfall hadn't touched the outskirts of the city. Going back toward the lake, they decided to ask Yelro to come in order to ask him if he could find out something about this strange weather. A large wave was spotted out on the lake, moving in impossible ways. With help of Yelro's magic, the group walked out on the lake and once they got closer to the lake the wave attacked them. Aon banished it to its home plane but they decided to look for a possible portal it could've come from.
The group (including Yelro and Demetrius) hired a keelboat captain named Ed to take them out on the lake to continue their search for portals. Later in the day when they were far out on the lake a strange storm began. First a loud clap of thunder deafened most of the group. Then acidic rain began to fall, followed by six lightning bolts striking most of the people on the boat. After which large hail began to fall and lastly strong winds and freezing rain assailed the boat. All of it took place during a minute and the group remained deafened for four more minutes afterwards.
After slaying the huge water elemental, they nonetheless wanted to find where it had come from. Using magic they got an approximate location and swam down there. They found the home of Sahuagin, humanoids with fish looking heads that typically live in oceans. After killing some of the guards, Chloe managed to intimidate one of the civilians to tell them what was going on and where the elemental had come from. She told them that the priestesses had summoned it and agreed to take the group to them.
After they got back to Sandholm and the mansion using one of Yelro's spells to get there quicker, Chloe told Noa that she's pregnant.
It was the day of the wedding of Princess Ralenna Sarric and Sir Knight Stephen Woodward. The Four Dragons were there as the honour guard for the occasion. Right at the end of the ceremony when Enna and Steve sealed their marriage with a kiss, the ground opened up all the way from the palace to across the town square where they were getting married. Hundreds of people fell into the chasm. The Four Dragons managed to get away and saved some others in the progress but among the lost were Steve and Demetrius' niece. Aon tried really hard to save Steve but in the end the ground closed up and those who fell were seemingly swallowed by it.
A memorial was held for those who were lost during the royal wedding. Afterwards Chloe and Sonata went to speak to Enna. They told her everything that had happened and the reason why - King Wolfram Sarric and his foolish wish.
The day finally arrived for Noa and Chloe's wedding. They were wed by Sonata in the temple of Sarenrae, joined by their family and closest friends. The after party was held in Chloe's magnificent mansion and some got way more drunk than others. Noa and Aon fell asleep together on a couch after copious amounts of drinking. Chloe didn't mind spending her wedding night alone as she was eight months pregnant.
After thirteen hours of labour, assisted by Yelro as the midwife, Chloe gave birth to twins. Siri, a half-elf like her parents, and Iris who gave them some concern as she was completely blue but after a moment they realised that she's a water genasi.
A couple of days before Sonata's birthday, Demetrius came back from his family's estate. With him he had a gift for Sonata. A decorative shortsword exquisitely made and adorned. On the pommel, well hidden, was a button and when Sonata pressed it, it was revealed that there was a compartment within. There was a beautiful engagement ring, with silver made to look like leaves and flowers and set into the ring was a quite large sunstone. Sonata said yes and revealed that she had also made an engagement ring for Demetrius (not revealing that it had been done the 6th of Changebringer, eight months before).
Aon got a message from his mother, Astraea, saying that she just found out that Kira, one of his best friends, was unconscious and had been so for days. The Four Dragons decided to go investigate, calling in Yelro to watch the twin girls as they travelled to Wadesten via teleportation circle. There they examined Kira's unconscious form but all they could find was a bump at the back of her head, presumably from when she had fallen prone. They also did a thorough investigation of the mage tower, Kira's place of work, but they couldn't find anything that would indicate what had happened to her.
Aon received a letter from Kira and then used a high level spell to dimension door away when Noa tried to read it over his shoulder. A lot of shenanigans with waste of spells happened before Aon let the others read the letter. Noa was the one who discovered that the letters at the beginning of each sentence read "please help me". It also seemed to hint that Kira was in the spider cave where they had rescued Enna years ago. The complete letter can be read below.
The Four Dragons made their way to the spider cave by Aon's teleportation spell. Once inside, they had a quite brief fight against Bonny, Kira and a few undead. Aon used the spell hold person very effectively and they managed to tie up both Kira and Bonny before they could do much damage. But as they tried to carry Kira with them, she started screaming in agony and something burst out of the back of her head. A tiny creature with long hair-like tendrils with sparks of energy running up and down them. Segments of bone, like rings around its tiny body for protection and a long needle thin stinger stood out with their off-white colour against its otherwise flesh coloured body. It also had a mouth full of sharp fangs.
After a suggestion that Kira had made the previous day about asking a god for help with the book that led to her having some kind of parasite altering her brain, Sonata went to Wadesten to pray at the temple of Sarenrae there at dawn. Rona helped her set up a nice ritual space to pray but when she failed to get a distinct answer, Rona offered to take Sonata directly to Sarenrae. Sonata was unsure and went back to Sandholm to ask her friends what they thought. In the end it was decided that Sonata, Aon and Noa would go and Chloe was going to stay at home with her babies as she hadn't felt good about leaving them for longer periods of time. The trio made their way back to the temple in Wadesten, making each other more and more nervous about meeting an actual god. Except Aon who had already met Celestian and now apparently didn't think that meeting gods was a big deal.
The trial of Kira and Bonny took place. Kira was sentenced to six months of house arrest and five years of being forbidden from using magic. Bonny was sentenced to three months of house arrest. They were to be kept in a room in the Sandholm mage tower for their house arrest.
Astraea and Godfrey moved into a small house in Sandholm to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Enna came to tell the Four Dragons that she plans to abolish the monarchy and leave place for a theocracy. She wanted to tell them first before letting the public know. They advised her to wait until they had been to the Dead Isles to make a public announcement just in case something terrible were to happen otherwise, like had happened at Enna's wedding. She took their advise to heart despite feeling very hurt.
Kira, newly free from house arrest, came to talk to Aon about her concerns that her mother might have managed to read the book and also been possessed by the same kind of creature that Kira had in her brain. Since she no longer had use of her magic, she asked if Aon could scry on her mother for her. He agreed and found out that her mother was living in a forest somewhere, looking very haggard. He offered to go and attempt to find her but Kira said no only to later change her mind and ask if they would. It was decided that Aon, Sonata and Yelro would go look for Kira's parents.
After doing some research about Contraria, the country that Kira was from, Aon teleported together with Sonata and Yelro. Having never been there, only studying maps, they ended up in a different forest than Aon had intended. However, that turned out to be a bit of luck as they ended up closer to the forest where Kira's parents were living. Using Yelro's wind walk they could cover a lot of distance in a short time and they found a small hut where it looked like people had been living. Yelro used magic to make them a hiding place nearby and they settled down to wait.
They told Kira about their discoveries and told them that her parents were staying at an inn there in Sandholm. Kira wasn't convinced that her mother hadn't had any ill intents ten years ago but the time spent barely surviving could change a person. She decided to give her parents a chance. The group then decided to talk to Enna about what they had found out about Contraria and the alleged goddess that had taken over as leader of the country. She agreed that it was concerning and that she would look into it.
Sonata and Demetrius got married at dawn in the backyard of the Four Dragons mansion with just a chosen few present.
After Sonata and Demetrius' wedding, the Four Dragons and Demetrius teleported to the Dead Isles. There they were instantly hit by the life draining effect of Wolfram's unfortunate Wish. Appearing right next to the mountain holding Wolfram's lair, they came too close to one of the Nightwalkers living on top of it. They fought the Nightwalker and defeated it with relative ease. Afterwards they spent some time, invisible and flying, looking for Wolfram's lair. They found it and sneaked in easily, however there was a door to Wolfram's room which they had to open and thus revealed to him the presence of something even though they were invisible. Giving Wolfram no real time to speak, the group attacked him. After a relatively short fight they managed to defeat Wolfram, but not before Aon had been disintegrated.
The now Three Dragons and Demetrius lived in Chloe's Magnificent Mansion for a couple of days while waiting for the life draining effect of the Dead Isles to go away. Once Chloe messaged people on the main land that it was over, Mika came to them. She cast Wind Walk on everyone and as clouds they returned to Wadesten. There Mika, having heard what happened to Aon, offered to cast True Resurrection to bring him back. They went to a back room in her store where she had set up a ritual space. After the hour long ritual and touching pleas from the remaining three, the very expensive spell components were used up but Aon did not come back. Mika said that there was something preventing the spell from taking effect.
The tuning fork was finally ready. Yelro prepared to bring them to the Astral Sea. Before he got the chance to cast the spell, Aon appeared in the middle of the circle of people holding hands. He explained to them about the deal he'd made with Celestian. In order for Star and Seraph to live a normal life, Aon had sworn to serve Celestian after death. He was now an angel in Celestian's employ and would not be able to return to them completely, only for brief visits now and then. Very tearful goodbyes were made and the story of the Four Dragons as a complete unit was now ended. Though the surviving three would live on and have more stories to tell for many years to come.
