Advisors to the kings and queens of House Pendragon

The Council of the Round Table is a body which advises the reigning Summer King or Queen of Caraegwyn and institutes policy at their command. The Council is the inner circle of the monarch's advisors and essentialy forms the government cabinet of the Caraegwyn. Members are appointed to their office by the monarch and they can be dismissed at will by the monarch. The king or queen serves as the head of the Council and takes note of its recommendations, but only the monarch can make the Council's decisions into law.
In Caraegewyn, the monarch's most trusted advisors have gathered around the Round Table in the Golden Keep since the founding of the kingdom in 1720 ER. In those past times of legend, KIng Arthur I Pendragon was attended by his thirteen companions, the Knights of the Round Table. Over the centuries since, the board of royal advisors has transformed numerous times, settling to its current form a few centuries ago. Significantly, most titles of the Council correspond to a public office with power and responsibility beyond simply advicing the Crown.

The High Chancellor is the leading advisor of the Council that serves as the king's proxy when he is not present. They are in charge of matters of state and civil service.

The High Justiciar is the Crown's chief legal advisor and the highest ranked judge of the state tribunal. The high justiciar also manages law enforcement and the gaol of the Golden Keep.

The High Constable is the leader of the nation's armed forces. They hold supreme command of the Royal Army and coordinate the forces mustered by noble vassals in times of war.

High Admiral

The High Admiral is the realm's chief naval commander, supervising the Royal Fleet and coordinating the realm's naval defense. In times of war the High Admiral works closely with the High Constable to coordinate naval offensives and the defense of Caraegwyn's shores.

The High Chaplain is the representative of the various organized religions of the nation. The high chaplain advises the Crown in divine matters but is also thought to be a spokesperson for the common man.

The High Templar is the representative of the Templar Knights, the most important and powerful military force loyal to the Summer Crown. The high templar is also the head of the largest church in the realm: the Church of Iona.

Royal Spymaster

The Royal Spymaster is the realm's chief intelligence advisor, being in charge of espionage by supervising covert activities and information gathering both at home and abroad. They also work to coordinate the activities of the nation's diplomats.

Court Enchanter

The Court Enchanter advises the king in matters arcane. The court enchanter also serves as the personal wizard of the royal family and other inner circles of the court.

The High Druid is the representative of the various druidic circles of the realm. They advise the monarch in matters natural, having mostly to do with how the monarch's health and mood affect the natural world.

Seelie Ambassador

The Seelie Ambassador is a representative of the Seelie fey. They work as a diplomatic liaison between the Caraegweni Crown and Queen Titania's Summer Court in Tír-na-nÓg-ná-nÓg. This position is always held by a lord or lady of the Sidhe.
