Seelie Ethnicity in Amanor | World Anvil

Seelie (SEE-lee)

The Seelie are a subspecies of the Sidhe. They are powerful lords of the fey and closely bound to nature. The Seelie are rivals of the Unseelie.   The Seelie are creatures strongly attuned to the bright light of day, and they command natural powers related to the summer, the sun, and mists. All Seelie are united under the rule of a monarchic collection of nobles known as the Summer Court which is lead by queen Titania and his twin-sons Cernach and Grimnach.   Contents

Demographics

Seelie are mainly encontered on their home plane of Tír-na-nÓg, where they dwell in solitude. Members of the Summer Court might live together in small groups.   Solitary Seelie can also be encountered in the most deepest and densest wildlands of Amanor, most notably the forest of Bedegraine.

Dealings with mortals

When seizing mortals from Amanor to live with them in Tír-na-nÓg, the Seelie only accept children born during spring or summer.

Racial relations

The Seelie are fey creatures closely tied to nature. They are friendly or neutral with most other fey as well as beasts and plants. They can even call upon the service of such creatures due to their high position in fey hierarchy. Only Wild fey dare oppose their commands.   The Seelie have a mostly neutral rivalry with the Unseelie. They are also eternal enemies of all undead and monsters.   All Sidhe typically have very cool and distant -- if any -- relations to mortal races. Their attitudes towards mortals are often ones of dominance and superiority.
