Wizarding College

Schools of Magic

Wizarding Colleges are colleges established to teach the Way of Anon to those that have the potential to use Magic. These schools are largely independent establishments, both from each other and the nation they reside within.

These schools were exclusively designed study the Anon (magic) and its use outside the natural Casting abilities that the Elf, and other magical creatures, possessed when established. These scholars developed into what would be considered a Wizard today. In the modern day, however, their curriculum has spread to many scholastic pursuits and educations. The requirement to have the potential Caster remains, but many students only learn basic casting before venturing into more lucrative curriculum for themselves and their family goals.

While most colleges have education curriculum in all schools of magic, most are established with the idea of mastering a particular branch of magical knowledge. Divinare, for example, focus on honing Diviner magic. Those educated there, however, are no less skilled in other areas.

While these colleges were intended to educate all with natural magical talent, they are extremely expensive to maintain, especially in the modern age, when magic is less than it once was. The colleges are almost exclusively populated with the noble children of the land. Some rare souls with natural talent, or some of other connection, have come to the colleges through sponsors.

As stated above, these colleges are almost exclusively designed to educate wizards. Sorcerer are, by their very nature, natural casting. That said, most with those elven bloodlines that give them strong connections to magic, still learn the wizarding ways, rather than sorcery, due to cultural expectations and education. Arc Killon in the Kingdom of Marras is the only wizarding college that has curriculum to educate and train the women of that nation in the art of Sorcery. Men there are be educated in the wizarding arts.
