Divinare (dee VINE ree)
College of Divination
Divinare is a Wizard college found in Lakorth in the Heartlands of the major continent of Ethae. Founded in 4501sc on the tenth anniversary celebration of the founding of the Republic of Lakorth, the college brought in the brightest minds across the fledgling nation to establish the first school dedicated to the study and practice of the Anon. The school, ironically found its true footing after the desolation of the Republic when Ancient Siduum fell to the Umaybbad and its surviving wizards found refuge in Lakorth and the safety of the college.
In the modern day the college has declined in prominence in comparison to the other colleges that have appeared over the centuries. Through much of its life it was the leading school in divination magic, having students from across Aldern, however, the Church has pushed into prominence in the business of divination since its founding. Where once diviners of Divinare would hold positions of advisors and counselors for leaders, kings, and nobles, one will now probably find a Trijan Bishop today.
In spite of its weakened political and scholastic power, Divinare is still an ancient bastion of knowledge that rivals even the Jenuwan Order. Its library, housed in the oldest structure of the site stands seven stories tall, encompasses the entire building, and is home to two thousand three hundred years of knowledge on magic gathered by the school. The early Jenuwan Order was made up of graduates of Divinare who transitioned into the religious field. A practice that seems to continue to the modern day, despite the rivalry between the Church and the college in the Heartlands.
