Park District

This district is a pleasant, happy place, with numerous points of interest for family and friends alike. A forked river lazily flows through the district from the north, shining the reflected light of the sun on all manner of beautiful bridges and stonework. The Park district is considered to be symbolic of Carandor’s freedom from occupation and the fruits of its prosperity. It’s thus open to all, and almost never without at least afew people. Along the eastern river sits a prominent bench that features a bust of thecreator of the Park District, King Leomund Tystar.

Beauty Amidst City Life

The Park district is a national park that allows for nature to thrive in the midst of the hustle and bustle of city life. Nobles nowadays avoid it due to the common people that frequent it, preferring instead to visit privately owned estates and countryside villas. The Park district is the most sparsely populated district in Golgatha, with little available housing. Some inherited few exist, which are considered rare, prized possessions by the common people, and awful cramped hovels by the nobles. Living in the Park district is a bit like living in a tiny forest, with civilization just a stone’s throwaway. The Doge is expected to maintain the Park district, and every Doge so far has. Though lately, it appears somewhat run down and forgotten by its caretakers.

Arcane Films

At the center of the Park District is a small mountain, with stairs and steep walkways leading to the top. There lies Crystal Point, a massive crystal ball display, similar to a drive-in cinema, installed by Spellhold. Crystal Point routinely features moving pictures called Films. They are recordings filmed by the wizards of Spellhold, who are rather nerdy and not the best at performative filmcraft.

Films haven’t really caught on in Golgatha, as people prefer to watch Streams. Still, it’s a moderately popular place to go because it’s affordable and generally appropriate for most ages and family outings. Not to mention the impeccable view of the city below or the exercise from climbing the mountain... you’ll just have to endure the films while you’re there.
