Dwarven District
Chimneys dot the skyline of the Dwarven district like no other part of Golgatha. Smoke wafts up from them around the clock. The buildings of the Dwarven district are practical, perhaps even beautiful, in a rugged kind of way. Carven reliefs, banners, and clan symbols are everywhere. Innumerable pubs with fine ale are found all across the district.
Masters of Industry
The dwarves are known everywhere for their industrious spirit, and that reputation is well earned. Watermills, Forges, and Smelteries are the most common places of employment there. Their workers are often shirtless due to their hot environment. There’s a rumor that some ladies from the neighboring Noble district like to admire them from afar as they work. General society considers it odd to be attracted to dwarves due to their shortness.
Banks, Rails, and Cranes
The Dwarven district houses the Beastbreaker Bank, which does most of Golgatha’s banking. It’s run by the Mournheart dwarf clan and is widely considered unbreakable. Golgatha’s only Minecart Rail Station is here, connecting to the Dwarven city of Nerneruhm. Though quick, it’s a rough ride and not popular with non-dwarves. Lastly, Dwarven Cranes line the rocky border overlooking the Docks district, used for lifting goods out of the district into the relative safety of upper Golgatha.
Some people would be put off by the smoke and industry of the Dwarven district, but dwarves love it, actually preferring such an environment. It deters passers-by and ensures anyone passing through their district does so with purpose, such as spending coin. The inhabitants of the neighboring Elven district like to say that the hairy hobbits of the Dwarven district wouldn’t know healthy living if it kicked them in the behind, but the dwarves revel in such banter, raising a drink to the elves’ display of backbone.
