Merchant District
A prosperous district for the upper middle class, traders of various kinds populate this place. It’s said that you can find anything in the world for sale here, though when it comes to rare kinds of magic that’s a tall order that they definitely cannot deliver on. Anything mundane that strikes your fancy can be found here, as the Merchants district conducts trade with all nations of Adranon.
Opportunities & Dangers
Due to the restrictions of Mercantilism, leading most enterprising Carandorians to be traders. The traders residing here look into the nearby Noble and Doge Districts, one day hoping to earn enough gold to join their ranks.
Few succeed. Most spend their entire lives here at the Great Marketplace, haggling, bartering, and charting out trade routes with the rest of the world. According to rumor, a hidden Secret Market exists in the Merchant District where goods of a darker nature are sold, frequented by rogues and scoundrels alike. But even vague knowledge of how to get to such a place is never given freely.
Chainers & Where to Buy Them
Spellhold, the only arcane academy (and manufacturer of both Chainers and Streaming Orbs) in Carandor, is situated here. Due to Carandor’s tenuous relation with arcane casters, most people view them with distrust, but thankfully, Spellhold doesn’t seem to mind, and its wizards have gotten into the enterprising spirit of Golgatha by selling arcane goods. It’s here that Carandor’s distinctive Chainers and Streaming Orbs are made. These floating crystal balls enable video calls across large distances and are highly desired throughout Adranon.
