change, or else [session 7]

by Adria

(prompt: campaign slogan)

this whole campaigning, electing process is so. odd. to me.

it's interesting to see how people can "speak their voice" over who leads them, but only sometimes? it's odd. very unlike how things are back home.

i could definitely see some benefits- everyone guaranteed a chance to have a say! not just the alphas opinions being given more weight. or the elders' thoughts being given more sway.

thoughts for another time.

the group was talking about slogans for ilyana earlier, to convince people to vote for her. another new concept. shouldn't knowing one's stances and thoughts be enough? or even knowing sil's in this case be enough to sway the vote? especially for someone supposedly as loved and respected as ilyana? i guess the idea is to draw interest? attention? with a simple phrase. if you remember the phrase it's easy enough to remember the name and i suppose that's the start of change? i am honestly not sure.

the obvious ideas were all insults to sil- "better than sil;" "can't be worse than sil;" etc. and while slamming sil is undeniably enjoyable, i couldn't get past the idea of focusing on the change he's passed over, even willfully ignored. for a town named quickwater, this place has stagnated under sil's leadership, for all to see. so, "stagnate with sil" which has that fun double s thing, but not quite there. he shouldn't be our focus.

"change or stagnate" however, i find perfect. it's short and concise, gets to the root of one of the key issues, and it's got a dramatic *flair.*

i hope whatever happens these next 2 days brings some much needed change to quickwater, and hopefully in a positive way.
