Set during the Age of Gods, an unlikely group of individuals find themselves drawn together to fight in a war against the Yonkishi; a powerful group of ancient Yokai who were once sealed into the land. Finally free of their binds, the Yonkishi begin their ultimate goal of subjugating humans under Yokai rule.

"Hitokiri" Sakakibara - Deceased
Clad in a dark robe and a Noh mask, Sakakibara was a mass murderer who terrorized the people of Tengoku. Once the samurai began cracking down on him, he fled Tengoku and at some point joined forces with the Disciples of the Yonkishi. Since then, he has crossed paths with the party several times, always managing to stay a step ahead of them. Sakakibara is responsible for the deaths of at least 9 victims in Tengoku, the entire population of Gunma, and Banshou Katsuhiko. He was killed by Mushabibo Benkei during the Taki Hoshi liberation. -
Agito the Famine
Quiet and reserved, Agito rarely makes his own decisions, only moving as Mugen and the other Yonkishi command. However, on the battlefield, he is unmatched in ferocity. He also harbors a one-sided love towards Sayuri. He wields a set of scales that he uses to judge the souls of the unworthy. Unlike his romantic interest, Agito only finds humanoids to be mildly offputting. If not for his loyalty to Sayuri, he would have no part of their plan. Agito is the most good-natured of the Yonkishi. He dislikes suffering and unneeded death. Unlike the other Yonkishi, Agito loathes his power. He despises the fact that it drags out ones suffering, resulting in slow, agonizing deaths. He would rid himself of it if he could. -

Ami - Deceased
A Jorogumo who lived near the Shinai waterfall basin along with Soujiro, her old and sickly "father". Because she was preying upon the children in the village, the party was sent to exterminate her but were able to convince her to stop and move along. She later made her way to Tengoku where she was taken in by Pietdidro. -
Asuramaru
Cocky, vain, and sometimes childish, Asuramaru is Kyuubi who is hailed as Saiha’s most powerful Ayakashi. He fought against the Yonkishi in the battle hundreds of years ago. Asuramaru is chaotic, and his unpredictable nature necessitates a watchful eye. He considers humanoids to be beneath Yokai but doesn’t agree that they should be subjugated or eliminated (because their worship pleases him). He and Ayaka stayed behind to hold the Yonkishi off during their attack on Tengoku. His condition is unknown. He is the current wielder of Kyotouryu: Yasakani no Magatama. -
Ayaka Mori
Seductive, cunning, and at times even cruel, Ayaka is a powerful Ookami Yokai who runs a magic emporium in Tengoku. She was the last Ayakashi Saiha took on before he died during Heaven's Fall. -
Raiju Azekura
The guardian Yokai of Abe no Seimei, born from a lightning strike in the Arashiyama. Azekura is a Raiju who dwells in a chamber beneath the mountains. Mifune founded Abe no Semei after discovering Azekura's abode in the mountains. Azekura is a formidable combatant but is also exceptionally skilled in the art of healing. Should Sia and the other healers be unable to handle something, they go to Azekura for assistance. Azekura is responsible for resurrecting Genji after he was obliterated by Sayuri. -
Banshou Katsuhiko-Deceased
A teenage hunter from the forest village of Gunma. Banshou set out to make a name for himself and earn enough money to send back to his village. Unfortunately, everyone in his village was murdered by the serial killer "Hitokiri" Sakakibara, setting him on the dark path of vengeance. -
Chidori Rokurogan - Deceased
Half Kage-Onna, half human, Chidori was the first of Mifune's agents who was sent to assist the party in their efforts to find the scattered Kyotouryu. An expert in hand-to-hand combat, Chidori wielded a quarterstaff enchanted with Yokai fire. He was killed by a Death Knight while protecting Benkei from the Church of Bane. -
Galbatorix Arazaleus
One of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Bane sent to Koryo to kill Conradus. He has a green dragon mount named Agony. He murdered Soushi in his sleep and took Zokuto Yoroi, but it is unclear whether or not he is aware of its true power. -
Jigoku Tayū (Otoboshi)
A powerful hell courtesan that has mastery over hellfire. Jigoku Tayu believes that a piece of her dead daughter Yaya resides within Nozomi. Already unhinged after Yaya's death during the First Great War, learning of Nozomi's death seems to have further loosened her grip on reality. -
Juriel Rododactyllis- Deceased
One of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Bane sent to Koryo to kill Conradus. A vampire lord who travels with a Cadaver Collector that carries his coffin. His shadow dragon mount was named Scorn. Juriel was killed in combat with the group after an unsuccessful attempt to convince Conradus to return to Seraphix. -
Kenzo Kugayama
The current Master of the Wild and leader of the Twilight Enclave. A full blooded elf arcane archer. His wife, Kugayama Hisana is the Enclave accountant. He has agreed to ally the Twilight Enclave with Abe no Seimei for the upcoming war. -
Kyotouryu: Bitō Kanzashi
A living Kyotouryu, Bito was a construct forged to fight against the Yonkishi during the First Great Yokai War. After the war ended, he and his master fled to the Glimmer where they spent nearly 200 years searching for the lost Kyotouryu: Rakka Rouzeki until his master was corrupted by the invading StarCrossed. Bito eventually formed a contract with Conradus Stonero and began travelling with the group. -
Mifune
A powerful blue Oni and one of Saiha's Ayakashi who fought during the First Great War. Mifune is the leader of Abe no Seimei, the Sanctuary of the Onmyouji. Mifune is an Oracle who sometimes receives cryptic, prophetic visions about events that will transpire in the future. Mifune is the one who predicted the Yonkishi's return. He is the current wielder of Kyotouryu: Sōtō Kanazuchi. -
Mugen the Death
The de facto leader of the Yonkishi, Mugen embodies the primal fear all living creatures have of death. Wherever he walks, animals and plants dies around him. With a glance, he can end lives. He wields an ethereal black scythe wreathed in miasma. Mugen views death as part of the natural cycle of life. He is not inherently evil, but will do whatever he has to in order to accomplish his goals. Though he views humans and other humanoids as inferior, his goal is not actually to wipe them out completely. He simply wants their subservience. -
Mumei
A petite, giant Boomerang wielding Rokurokubi girl. She is one of Mifune's agents, called in to assist during the Second Great Yokai War. -
Pietdidro Galliasta
A happy-go-lucky foreigner from Amon-Ra seeking to start an antique store in Tengoku, Pietdidro is actually the infamous Prince of Thieves, known for stealing priceless artifacts from museums and palaces in Amon-Ra. After stealing the Sword of Abu-Simbel, he fled Amon-Ra and came to Koryo. -
Captain Raishin
The Captain of Tengoku's Imperial Samurai, Raishin is stern and straight-laced. Though he doesn't express it very well, he cares deeply for his friends and family. He is the current owner of the Kyotouryu: Sentō Tsurugi -
Rei Mizuhara
A kind, soft-spoken elf enchantress, Rei was the owner of an Ofuda shop in Hayakawa until trouble started brewing in the city when she relocated to Tengoku and started co-running Tsukihanami with Ayaka. -
Saiha el-Ryugamine - Deceased
The Saint of Tranquility, and one of the Ten Saints of Babylon. Saiha was a kind, peace-loving man. A just ruler, he was respected and admired by peasant and noble alike. He was killed during Heavens Fall when Babylon fell from the sky. -
Saki
Nozomi's younger sister. Like Akemi, she's also waited for Nozomi to return. Though weak in body, she is hyper-intelligent and is a strategic genius. She is not yet aware of Nozomi's death, -
Sayuri the Pestilence
As cunning as she is beautiful, Sayuri is sly and intelligent making her all the more dangerous in battle. A master of manipulation, Sayuri excels at destroying enemies from within (literally and figuratively). The pestilence she spreads across the land is vile, causing painful deformations and hideous bodily transformations. Her weapon is a katana that extends the range of her plague. Sayuri is the mastermind of the Yonkishi. Her cunning is at the center of their goal to dominate the humanoids. Her manipulative power is not limited to her enemies. She will use any one around her, even her fellow Yonkishi to further their goals. She is aware of Agito's feelings for her and uses them to her advantage (though she may reciprocate more than she lets on). Sayuri holds the most contempt for humans amongst the Yonkishi. She was in fact the one who reached out to the other Yonkishi and instigated the First Great Yokai War. She views the humanoids who've spread across Koryo as a blight that are corrupting the land and undermining her very existence. Like Otoboshi and Yaya, Sayuri once admired humans. However, after seeing their greed and destructive tendencies, she grew to hate them. -
Scorn - Deceased
Juriel's dragon mount. Killed in combat along with Juriel. -
Setsuna the Flood
The youngest of the Yonkishi. Setsuna is brash and hot-headed, quick to let her emotions get the better of her. She is often chided by the other three because she has a bad habit of letting her temper control her. She wields a powerful bow that can harness the power of maelstorms. Setsuna revels in destruction. She believes that since all life stems from water, it should be water that brings about it's end as well. She destroys everything with the power of the torrential flood. Wherever she walks, water springs forth from the nearest source. Setsuna dislikes humanoids, but has nothing personal against them. She is with the Yonkishi mainly because their goal allows her to freely use her powers. -
Sia
A small, friendly skunk Yokai who also serves as Mifune's secretary. Sia is a well respected Healer in the Hall of Healing. -
Soushi Tsutaya - Deceased
The former Captain of Miketsukami's Samurai and the previous owner of Kyotouryu: Zokutō Yoroi. He was one of Genji's old friends, and one of the only ones who still believed in him when he returned to Miketsukami. He survived the Battle against the StarCrossed only to be killed in his sleep by Galbatorix Arazaleus. -
Daimyo Suzuha Miyamoto
The young Daimyo of Miketsukami, Suzuha was faced with the harsh reality of life after her friend and mentor Yukimura Sanada killed her brother, the former Daimyo, and fled the city. Growing cold and callous, Suzuha now rules Miketsukami with a "might is right" mentality. She is a master of Iaijutsu. -
Tao-Ren el-Nagaoka
Saiha's apprentice. Tao-Ren's exquisite beauty is equaled only by her mastery of hand-to-hand combat. -
Toyotomi Hideyoshi - Deceased
One of Miketsukami's elite samurai guard who took over Soushi's position as Captain after he was killed. He was killed while protecting Suzuha during the Skirmish in the Grindstones. -
Yume
Nozomi's older sister. She is a war priest of Inari Ookami. Unlike her mother and sister, she is somewhat resentful that Nozomi abandoned the village. She is not yet aware of Nozomi's death. She is the current wielder of Kyotouryu: Rakka Rouzeki. -
Yuragi
The village elder of Kitsune Mura. She is the oldest of the Kitsune in the village. Intelligent, wise, and well-respected, she is the voice of reason and the de-facto leader. -
Yuuna Ameno
Free spirited with a shock of bubblegum pink hair, Yuuna travels from town to town collecting coin with her Shamisen.
