Onward came the Meteors

General Summary

After Sora recovered Benkei who had been transformed into a potted plant, Conradus, the group made their way to the island shores, and scaled the rocky cliffs to find themselves in a humid jungle of mega flora. In that time Benkei reverted back to his normal form.    While making their way through the jungle, the group came upon a campsite near a collapsed tree. After investigating it, they met a high elf named Prifddinas who had been stranded on the island for several months. After some discussion, they learned that he was a Babylonian and had been working under --------------, the King of Magic, and that he'd somehow ended up on the island after a mishap of some sort. Prifddinas also revealed that they were likely on the Isle of Behemoths one of the many islands that made up the mysterious archipelago called the Vanishing Isles, which, as the name suggests, have a tendency to disappear and reappear in random locations around Ormodinia. After further discussion, Prifddinas agreed to lead them to high ground where they'd be better able to survey the island and surrounding sea.   Using Benkei's folding boat, the group sailed along the river towards the Valley Prifddinas had spoken of. While en route, they were stalked and ambushed by a trio of Spinosaurs that had been attracted by the bean Benkei had planted the previous night. They also avoided becoming raptor food through a clever casting of Magnificent Mansion by Prifddinas. Upon reaching the foot of the mountains surrounding the valley, they began their ascent and after a close call with Sora and Benkei, they stood atop the summit looking down into the Valley of Behemoths.    They descended and began making their way towards the other ridge, hoping for a better vantage point, but as they began making their way through the valley they noticed that they were being stalked by a rather odd Parasaurolophus. They also failed to avoid a quicksand pit and spent precious time rescuing each other.   As the sun began to set and they closed in on the other ridge their path was blocked by an avatar of Tamamo no Mae , who politely requested they die here. Seeing her, Mugen also took avatar form and questioned why she had allied herself with "outsiders". To Mugen's chagrin, Tamamo made it clear that she'd never considered him her master, and that she simply followed whichever lord her whim told her to. Following this exchange, the Parasaurolophus that had been following them appeared and transformed into a gelatinous mound of gray ooze, tentacles, and flesh. Tendrils erupted from it and began infecting other nearby behemoths and the group began a fight for their lives. In the midst of the battle the wild magic that surged through the island burst forth as Conradus cast a spell and a meteor came crashing down upon the battlefield, killing almost all of the enemy Leech creatures but also knocking Sora, Benkei, and Bitō unconscious in the process.    After the fight ended, and the group lay panting in the new crater in the ground, they began opening up to the angry Prifddinas about their situation and what he'd gotten himself into. They finished ascending the ridge and looked out on the sea, where they saw three nearby islands. After deciding to move towards the right-most island, they deployed the instant fortress and took a much needed rest.
