The Isle of Lost Things

General Summary

Deciding to head towards the island wreathed in mist, the group descended the ridge and after dealing with an ambush set by a pair of prehistoric crocodiles (in which Benkei also lost an eye) they reached the shore of the Isle of Behemoths. The following morning they used the folding boat and set off for the new island. Along the way, their vessel was attacked by a massive Mosasaurus and after an unfortunate wild magic surge which dropped another meteor atop the vessel, the group was left floundering in the water with the gargantuan behemoth. In the ensuing fight both Sora and Benkei were swallowed and killed by the Mosasaur. Conradus and Bitō  slew the sea monster and swam their dead comrades to the surface where Conradus used Revivify to bring them back to life.    Exhausted and drained, they completed the journey to the misty island and took time to rest on the beach which was covered with junk from all across Ormodinia. After entering the forest that covered the island, they discovered the perfectly preserved bodies and wandering spirits of those that had found themselves on the island. One of these spirits seemed more active than the rest and after spending some time conversing with him, learned that his name was Lysander el-Faeri, a Babylonian researcher and Astromancer who'd died while surveying the Vanishing Isles. They learned that a number of individuals matching Nultial, Tamamo, and Laxius' descriptions had arrived on the island before them. He also mentioned that this island, the Isle of Lost Things changed people and forced those who found themselves on it to confront those things that haunt them or die, trapped in an eternal struggle within one's mind.     Sora, Benkei, and Conradus fell victim to these hauntings and with some encouragement from Prifddinas, they all managed to overcome them. The next day, Lysander pointed them towards the Sky Emeralds, the free floating mountains of the Isle of Lost Things, where the dracolich that had accompanied Nultial to the island was currently roosting. Using invisibility, Benkei flew towards the roosting dracolich and located Nultial's camp where an agitated Nultial was being consoled by Tamamo no Mae. Benkei was detected by both Scream the dracolich and Tamamo, though Tamamo did not give him up to her companions. Upon returning to the group, he drew upon his old memories as Ichirou and learned that part of the secret to finding where Izanagi had hidden himself on the island was to "look down from above".
