What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Sometimes the names of things need to be changed during worldbuilding, e.g. the name of a country, and as it is right now, if I do change the names of anything, I then have to go through and manually find every mention of it to update that.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

A find and replace feature, similar to what a lot of word processors have, would allow you to search your world for the name/word/phrase that needs editing and quickly fix them.

What are other uses for this feature request?

It can also be useful in correcting spelling mistakes (e.g. you spelt the name of a character wrong in their article title, so now any time they were mentioned using the "@[name]" feature, it was misspelled) or leaving notes for yourself on unpublished/WIP articles to easily find and come back to later.

The Team's Response

This suggestion is declined .... ? :P Just kidding! Find and replace will allow you to get a full list of articles that an occurance of a string appears in all basic sections (under sections tab) and the Vignette, not the prompts. Then you will be able to action it up to a number of articles automatically, and over that by prompting A new interface will have to be designed for this as an extention of Articles & Categories or as a new widget on the Overlay (pending decision)

This could be done trough the unique identifier that every article has. Trough this the original name could be picked up and changed. A pop-up showing before and after where we could pick and choose what to change would be superb (similar to windows asking you what you'd like to do).

I feel the same with this sort of thing - one of the reasons I've been kind of leery of getting started is that worldbuilding can change so much (especially early on!) that even basic changes like this later can make virtually everything outdated or, worse, not make sense. A feature such as this would certainly help that problem!
