Late in the night, the party wakes to a scream of pain from Buruna, who stood guard in the common room. The next morning, the companions very visibly bring their captive and the two dead cutthroats to Maleon and Reynulf in Valbard Tower. Knowing that there are spies in Hillsboro, they take the long route through the center of town.   Reynulf and Maleon send to Garym, who had already been notified by his apprentice. The party then fill them in on everything they learned at the Outpost, including the plan to rebuild the outpost as a base for the temple. Garym recognizes the eye symbol as the Temple of Chaos symbol.   Reynulf and Maleon endorse the idea that the party rebuild the outpost, as a way to stop the temple from using it as a base. They agree to contact Tostig and recruit a dwarven architect for the rebuilding, and are willing to donate labor and building supplies from their own construction project to help with the effort. With one caveat, they would ask that some of their own loyal guards be housed at the outpost.   They party also tells Maleon and Reynulf of the weapons cache they recovered and agree to donate some for the defense of the town.   The companions also agree that because of their very visible defiance of the temple by parading the dead cutthroats through town, that they disappear for a while, and once they meet with the architect they will leave town and sneak back to the Outpost.

The others agree to stay at the Black Quartz and provide a distraction ad also a defense against any other moves the Temple may make.

It takes a couple of days for Tostig to bring in a dwarven architect. He brings Dworvic Stoneforge over to the Black Quartz, and they agree to meet at the Outpost. That night, the Outpost Companions leave, Crasock laying some false trails, as if they went their separate ways, until they finally meet up at the Outpost the next morning.
