Ennepsis

In Torrezon, The Order of the Dead are the elite military of The Valcoran Empire. Hand chosen from among the best of all the people of the Empire, they are taken to be trained as initiates at Ennepsis. But the Order is not simply military, its also a religious order dedicated to the deity Oseris, and they are tested at Ennepsis to decide if they are strong enough of body, mind, and spirit to become, Undying.

Purpose / Function

Ennepsis is the headquarters of The Order of the Dead, and their primary training center. All those considered worth enough to join the Order are brought to this location to begin their brutal and rigorous twelve year training regiment to decide if they are worthy of the Holy Rite of Salvation.
They rise every day before sunrise, to eat a simple meal, and begin rigorous physical and martial training, to keep their bodies at peak fighting potential at all times. Their minds are subjected to psychic assaults throughout the day, in the forms of illusions and mental attacks from full Order members. These attacks are meant to harden their minds and make them more resilient to assaults from enemy mages on the battlefield, as well as train them to focus and detect illusions faster than the standard person. When the sun sets, they eat again, and are each confined to their solitary rooms, consisting of a simple bed, and a thick rug for praying. They spend the rest of the time in reflection and prayer until the gong in the center of the tower is rung, where they sleep.

Alterations

Since its foundation following The Eltaran-Valcoran Conflict, Ennepsis has had little to know alterations to the brooding black stone of its structure.

Architecture

Ennepsis is a massive black square tower, standing one hundred and fifty feet in height. It is constructed completely out of dark stone bricks, mined from the Godspeak mountain to its west. The building has no windows, save for at the very upper most rooms, and is let from within by roaring fires and torches.

History

Ennepsis became the centralized home and training ground for The Order of the Dead following the end of the Eltaran-Valcoran Conflict. Empress Verona Elmahdy designated the land be sanctified to her new God, and that it should become a training ground for her new Undying.
