The Holy Rite of Salvation is a sacred gift given to those in The Order of the Dead who show great promise.

History

The first known to undertake the Rite was Verona Elmahdy who was at the time Empress of the dying Valcoran Empire.
Now she personally hand chooses those who show great promise from within the ranks of The Order of the Dead.

Execution

Those chosen to undergo the Rite are taken to a special chamber in The Grand Temple of the Dead where they are fed a concoction that puts them into a deep trance. During this trace, they are said to be taken into The Ethereal Plane, where they are challenged by forces of Osiris, as well as mentally tested by the Godling himself. If they are able to overcome his minions and mental tests, he imbues them with a part of his power, stripping away their mortality and replacing it with a strange kind of undeath, as well as impowering them with energies of the Plane itself.
