Keelwater Gardens
Keelwater Gardens represent the east side of Valheim, known to be less dangerous than other parts of the island. The name "Keelwater Gardens" comes from the first settler to step foot on Valheim, the human named Faragorn Keelwater.
Geography
Keelwater Gardens is known to be a grassland with a variety of creatures that are only native to Valheim. It stretches across the east side of the island, touching The Border and the sea. Keelwater Gardens tend to attract tourists from around the world, hoping to take a look at the interesting and unnatural colors of the Flora & Fauna. (This area is built being around the least dangerous place on Valheim and should be the location of the start of a campaign. This is only a suggestion and you can start your games wherever you choose.)
Fauna & Flora
- Furrowweed: Furrowweed is the anchor of the ecosystem of Keelwater Gardens. it is a pinkish tinted grass that Is packed with nutrients for other creatures to feast upon. Most people say it tastes like mint, but the flavor varies depending on the consumer.
- Miscellaneous nonsentient plants: Keelwater gardens grow many types of plants like trees, dandelions, and other plants you would find in the grasslands of earth.
- Miscellaneous small animals/bugs: Keelwater gardens is home to many animals like groundhogs, beetles, and other animals/bugs you would find in the grasslands of earth.
- Puff-Pup: The staple animal of Keelwater Gardens is the Puff-Pups. these little dogs have puffy pink fur, making them resemble a cotton ball. they spend their days feasting on the flora and rolling around in the grass, playing with one another.
- Ankhegs: burrowing under the soft soil of Keelwater gardens are Ankegs, the terror of the earth. they burst out of the ground and grab any creature smaller than them to eat as their meal.
- Quaggle: Quaggles look like zebra but instead of black stripes, they have a ginger swirl pattern stretched across their body. They are herbivores and only eat small plants. they are hunted for their blood which can be used to make an antidote for strong poisons.
- Sharper: Sharpers look like cougars with bright ginger fur, and with a powerful maw full of sharp teeth. They normally hunt in packs which is how they overpower larger foes. Sharpers are carnivores and are cocky enough to try and bite anything that breaths.
- Rocs: The behemoths of the sky, rocs don't nest in Keelwater Gardens they nest on Mount Firethorn, but they prefer to hunt in the open grasslands rather in their tall mountain home. They tend to swoop down and grab one or two Quaggles and then bring them home as a meal for them and their young.
- Miscellaneous birds: Keelwater gardens is home to many birds like eagles, hawks, and other birds you would find in the grasslands of earth.
- Giant badger: making their home in burrows far from their smaller cousins, giant badgers will eat any creature smaller that will fit inside their large maw.
- Giant weasel: making their home in burrows far from their smaller cousins, giant weasels will eat any creature that they can trap in their winding tunnels.
- Wolves: A couple of packs of wolves inhabit Keelwater Gardens that make their home in small caves that are worked into the side of a hill. They tend to steer clear of any of the larger more powerful creatures.
- Lions: Rarely, travelers encounter a pack of lions on the trail. The lions of Keelwater Gardens tend to be less aggressive than normal because they aren't at the top of the food chain as they normally are. Their pride was lost to the wind, so they only eat small creatures that they know they can overpower.
- Munchie: The Munchies are probably the most feared creature of Keelwater Gardens and for a good reason. Their terrifying ability to overwhelm their opponents is legendary among storytellers and lorekeepers.
- Hammerhead: Hammerheads are herbivores, and eat tons of food each day. They have a large protrusion on their skull which they use to bash and charge down potential threats to their lazy lifestyle.
- Mud eel: Mud Eels are carnivorous land worms that latch on to their prey before sinking their rows of teeth into their flesh. They can "swim" through the earth with a slippery slime that coats their body but they are effectively useless on land.
- Faerie Pumpkin: Faerie Pumpkins are very rare, and often harvested to be turned into a pink soup by the locals of Keelwater Gardens.
- Bulloose: Bulloose are like a cross between a buffalo and a moose. They are herbivores and spend most of their time grazing in the open field feasting on delicious Furrowweed
- Chokellockel: Chokellockel are giant, flightless exotic birds that can run at an astonishing 63 miles per hour. They are often tamed and used as mounts to easily traverse almost anywhere in Valheim. They are omnivores and feed on mostly rodents and Furrowweed.
- Kalle: Kalle are useless vegetable-folk who lead very simple lives; walk around, spread seeds, get eaten by other creatures.
- Privello: The Privello is a rare creature that nests in the few trees scattered across Keelwater Gardens. They suck in large amounts of air into the sacs located on their head and chin and once inside, the air mixes and gathers the spore-like material inside. Once ready to be released, the Privello blows it all out at once, making a kind of dangerous smog that puts creatures to sleep.
Natural Resources
- Furrowweed: Intelligent creatures often crush Furrowweed into a fine paste and then mix it with their drinks to create interesting new flavors.
- Quaggle blood: Ingesting the blood of a Quaggle will cure your body of poisons, so it is sought after by alchemists who will often pay a high price for a vial of the stuff.
- Grains: Various types of wild grain grow in the open field of Keelwater Gardens, and is basically free for the taking for anyone daring enough to go out and harvest some.
- Soil: The soil of Keelwater Gardens is nutrient-rich and is great for growing crops or flowers of almost any kind.
- Faerie Pumpkin.: Faerie pumpkins can be turned into a fine pink soup that is spiced with a touch of Furrowweed to give it an extra kick in its flavor.
- Chokellockel: Chokellockel are often tamed and used as excellent mouts.
