Munchie
Munchies are small shelled creatures that on their own, can't cause any harm but when they travel in groups they could level an entire city. They are ruthless little preditors that will give no mercy upon the weak or wounded.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They have 4 small paws that they use to dig at immense speeds, and they carry a hard exoskeleton covering every part of their tiny body besides the legs and mouth. Their most terrifying ability is to let out a high pitched screech that is hard to hear for creatures besides other munchies. When they unleash this screech, about 6 seconds later, 2 more munchies pop out of the ground to join the fray, each with their own rallying screech.
Genetics and Reproduction
Munchies reproduce sexually and actually lay eggs which they hide in a den deep under the earth that (almost) no other creature can get to.
Growth Rate & Stages
As a Munchie grows to adulthood their shell is broken, and they eventually form a thin membrane over their body which will harden into a new shell in a few days.
Ecology and Habitats
Munchies live underground preferably under flat open soil so that they can easily dig through it to ambush prey. Despite their strong paws and maw, they cannot dig through stone or metal so they cannot thrive in rocky areas.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Munchies are carnivores and will eat anything made of meat. The old saying goes: "if you feel the ground move, THEN RUN!".
