Born to Perform

A very young Eruelen had a gift when it came to music, often listening carefully to the music, poetry, and many other forms of art that she listened to that she had access to by her family, who owned a tavern known as the Cozy Oak where musicians came and went as they traveled through her home town of Denel. It allowed experience the many songs of her people and soon enough it allowed her to begin her career when she finally reached the age of twenty-five, despite her still being young by High Elf standards. But everyone would change their tune when she played on her lyre and sang as if she was a professional that had decades to master their craft. But most people never realized that her gift of Second Sight, which were where the yellow eyes of the Spirit Seeker had given her access to all of the those who were deceased that wondered about her home. Many of which were old Spirits that lived long before her home was built, many of them told her tales and sang songs to her as they kept company with one another. But the most influential of these spirits was that of her grandmother, who had died two hundred years before she was born and was a musician herself, teaching her all she knew over the years till the day she began her career when she finally passed on to the afterlife.
Though it saddened her that she had left, she was happy knowing that she finally found peace and would honor herself by carrying out much performance at the Cozy Oat for many years and would be a favorite amongst the townsfolk and travelers alike. But what surprised many was her knowledge of many songs and tales that had been long forgotten by her people as her conversations with the dead had given her insight into the past that had long been forgotten by the Elves as they lost it from many tragedies and conflicts long after settled these lands. But she would have her moments in making her poems and songs as well that only allowed her career to blossom. But after a decade of performances, she felt unsatisfied with herself as she was stuck in an inn and knowing what she knew wanted to bring back some of the past that was lost to her people. This would strengthen when she meets Makaven Jumesh a Hen'votash, or Memory Keeper that had the sacred duty of finding and maintaining the history of Elves so it could never be lost. She told him many things that he was willing to write down and it had brought him much joy as the amount of knowledge she knew was worth centuries and this would be shared for all who remember the past. It was from that encounter that she believed that it was her duty to use her gift to restore what was forgotten as her people seemed to have lost so much since they came to Dageth. She would set out into the open world, saying goodbye to all she knew, and head out into a world she knew nothing about.

Seeker of the Forgotten

Setting out into the world for a young High Elf was often a big step to becoming an adult, but Eruelen was far younger than most her age dared set out away with most leaving home by fifty while she was only in her thirties, but her mind was made and she moves farther and farther from home than ever before and before she knew it she was completely lost by the time she started. But after a few weeks lost in the wilderness, she found her way with the help of a merchant that can across her and repaid him by playing a few songs for him. She would then find herself in the city of Andil, where she would find its city's Hen'votash and offer her services in becoming a Hen'Matal, a Memory Finder that set out in search of dangerous assignments too dangerous for a Memory Keeper to undergo. But due to her age, she was turned down despite what she could offer them. But that did not stop her from trying to achieve her goal, so she concocted a plan to get herself to where she needed to be, so she began to perform in the city, and almost overnight she became a celebrity in the city. Gaining great amounts of money from the many performances she gave across it.
As soon as she gain enough of it she would form her expeditions in the lands beyond that of the High Elves in search of the lost history. The expedition that she would lead would forever be known as the Seekers of the Forgotten and would find themselves in many parts of the Continent of Dageth the very few of their kind dared went, all the while finding many relics and pieces of the past the would-be recovered by Eruelen as she would find them thanks to the spirits the wandered the lands around them. They would travel to the icy reaches of the High Forged Mountains to the savage lands of the Black Plains. Often facing many trials that would see their work be undone. But they would always return with many things to tell and keep safe as they gave in to any Hen'votash they came across. This would begin an era of rediscovery for the High Elves with what wonders would be brought to them with the aid of Eruelen. But she would dedicate her time to her career for lengthy periods when rest was needed for the seekers.

A Paragon of the Arts

In her many travels to recover the history of her people, Eruelen became inspired by the things she discovered and would envelop them in her work in her. She would create several different songs from this and write a series of poems as well to capture the past of Elves when they were one people. The most famous of these creations would be the Echoes of Ancients are considered some of the greatest poems to be ever written In doing this brought great attention from her followers and began following suit in trying to capture the past glories that their people once had. In the decades to follow this would be known as the Rekindling of Memories with other artists recapturing the essences of what came before them in all forms of art. This would be greatly supported by her and many patrons that wished to see her work continue. Though her performances of her songs and readings would stop from time to time for the expeditions, when she did perform, it was a sight to see as she would become the center of attention. As her skill with her lyre or her voice alone something otherworldly to behold. As if she was blessed by the gods themselves with her musical talent.
But the truth was much more complex than one could imagine, as her gift as a Spirit Seeker was that of torment as she witness many things that the Spirits they had expensed, both good and bad that would forever be imprinted onto her mind with no way to turn it off. It did not help her either for the places she traveled to would often be full of wonder and terrors that would haunt their dreams. But instead of succumbing to madness or horror, she would use it and transform it into something beautiful for all love and cherish. For the centuries to come she would become an icon of art and would take on many students to become inspired by their love of the craft. Along with using her earnings to supports the arts all across the Kingdom of Vilneria creating theaters and many other public arts for the people to cherish.

Memorable Legacy

In her three centuries of life, Eruelen had done more than any warrior or ruler had achieved since the golden age of the kingdom as she ensured that the past was not forgotten. Allowing its people to gain valuable insight into their history and the knowledge that was lost with it. What she achieved in her findings was said to have been more than pits and pieces, put records, texts, and relics that would date back more than a thousand years, something that most thought impossible to achieve let alone in almost three centuries. Sadly, Eruelen would not reach old age as in her final years she would catch a dreaded case of Cytaiosis from one of the last expeditions she went on. Despite herself slowly dying as her body turned into crystal she would have one last performance in the Captial of Fenshelan in one breathtaking performance and a final poem called Remembrance. After that, she would return to her Denel to spend the rest of her days in peace, surrounded by loved ones until her passing. She would only have one child, a girl named Aurae with the only man she considered her true love by the name of Elashor. Her body when it finally crystalized would be turned into a statue of her likeness and be placed in the town's temple as she was a faithful believer in the sun god Bern where her crystal would shine brightly for all to see when the sun hit it. With it being said the crystal sang a wonderous when the light hit it. To honor her services, a holiday was created called the Day of Remembrance to allow the people to honor their ancestors and their history through songs and stories that they would tell. After her death, she would also be bestowed on one of the most sacred titles of her people, Sun’thal. Its meaning translates to Guide of the Ages, referring to the amount of knowledge recovered by an individual. Centuries after her death music is still being played and her poems recited by many musicians that have all claimed to no one can match her greatness and no one has done so to this day. Making her one of the most influential figures in the history of the High Leaves and never to be forgotten.
