Goblins

Another of the most common races in the Realms are the Goblins, though this term encompasses far more than humans might think. It is the race that has the most physically diverse fae, and the defining trait of each is that they and their magics are far more physical than the other races. This includes:   Brownies, orcs, giants, red caps, snake fae(Naga/Lamia not shapeshifters), oni, cyclops, spider fae and much more.    These fae tend to be far more physically powerful or sturdy rather than magical, and they don't tend to wield magic so much as being part of the magic through their blood. As a whole Goblins are common in any fighting force, having an endurance and typically a certain level of immunity to low level magical affects. This varies by the different clans, which is the typical family set up for the Goblins, forming their own communities that are often fairly tight knit. This is due in part to them being the most confrontational and old prejudices treating them as good for nothing but hard labor.

Inherent Abilities

  • Enduring - (Racial) - As a whole Goblins are the most physically hardy of all fae races, the hardest to harm or to suffer things like illness, broke bones or magical maladies. Their raw strength is typically significantly more than other fae races, though the larger they are the slower they tend to be as a result.
(Brownies, being typically the smallest of Goblin type, tend to be the fastest though even they are notably stronger/hardier than expected; Giants being the largest tend to be the slowest if they are at their full height.)
  • Size & Form Adjustment - (Racial) - All Goblins are able to adjust their size to a more human approachable one to interact with the world around them, and those with more exotic bodies (like Naga or Cyclops, etc) can assume a human form without it costing an ability slot.
(It costs them nothing to do so, though the ability level (ease, quickness, midshaped forms, etc) are left up to the individual players.)

Community Style

Goblins tend to form clans, large communities of several family groups among their own kind, but they, being so durable, also tend to be the most apt to have interclan conflict. Orcs will war with other orc clans, or other goblins, often shapeshifters, for territory. Goblins and Shapeshifters either get along fantastically or horribly, it's never quite guaranteed either way. Clan identity is often very important to Goblins, unless they have broken with their clan and carved out a life of their own.
