Daimons

Daimons are the most common race in Summer, being creatures that thrive on passion in a myriad of forms. They are not demons as religion might suggest, though some certainly claim that for amusement. Rather they are beings that thrive off quintessence; some do this by drinking blood, enticing desire, feeding off physical exertion or inspiration. They do not typically kill those they feed from, and tend to be some of the most alluring of the fae, as well as those most at ease in mortal places of power. They include:   Vampires, succubae, incubi, adze, leanan sidhe, and far more.   It should be noted regardless of human tendency to call them undead due to their feeding off life no Daimon is undead. They are all living beings. Nor are they weakened by the sun, religion or garlic (unless that fae has a specific allergy, the source for Dracula was a particularly complicated creature). They make superb warriors, as they typically have refined their abilities to read the energy and intent of opponents and use the awareness of the body in their fights.

Inherent Abilities

  • Feeding - (Racial) - Daimon's have one unifying trait and that is that they all must feed off something, regardless of what the specific is. Desire, blood, creativity, ...you name it and a Daimon can likely enjoy it. Feeding is unique to most of them, developed over their lives and as this is how they must survive this does not take an Ability slot.
(How often and how deeply each Daimon might need to feed is highly dependent to the individual and left up to the player.)

Community Style

Daimon's tend to be solitary creatures in their home lives unless their passions are strongly bound to a particular person. Once they come of age is it not uncommon for them to find community in factions they devote themselves too, like the Sunburst Guard, the Embers, or the Sparks rather than remaining with their blood family. Daimon's have also been known to form their own communities, with a few villages in Summer rumored to be retreats for them and those who wish to be fed on, these places tend to be highly hedonistic.
