The Behest Board

The Behest Board is the official phrase used to describe the location where licensed adventurers of The Adventurers Guild of Krakonia(AGK go to obtain new behests and turn in completed behests. The most well known Behest Board is the one located within The Hook, managed by Cassandra Greenpath herself, although smaller ones can be found throughout The Kingdom of Krakonia . The physical existence of the board is less literal, although many locations will have a sizeable board with the most significant, prominent quests displayed in large text, generally reserved for matters of great importance. Usually it is a behest manager's responsibility to provide context for any behest, usually putting official descriptions in large books for adventurers to read at the counter.

Any official behest from the AGK will provide the following information:

Title: The title of the behest. It will usually be clear and distinct, meant to inform adventurers of its basic objective without bogging them down with the details in case they're not interested in that type of behest.
Client: The name of the client requesting the behest. This could be an individual or an organization.
Rank: Depending on the rank of the adventurer, they may or may not be able to accept any particular behest. Most behests can be accepted by anyone, but occasionally a particularly dangerous behest will come along that requires a particularly skilled adventurer, and anything less can result in tragedy. The rank noted in the behest description is the minimum rank required to accept the behest.
Location: The location of the behest. There is a varying degree of specificity here depending on the nature of the behest. Something specific, such as "investigate the house in this named village that just got robbed," will have more detail than a more vague quest such as "investigate the northern region of a domain for possible bandit trouble."
Approximate Distance: Like the location above, there is a varying degree of specificity depending on the nature of the behest, but along with that, travel time can vary greatly depending on quite a few factors. The more common factors will be applied here, such as travel by foot (30ft), travel by foot (20ft), travel by horse, travel by pony, and travel by sea. Potential shortcuts via teleportation circles may be marked here as well as the Krakonia City Public Transportation System increases its reach throughout Requerm.
Priority: A priority level is provided based on the importance of the behest to the overall prosperity of the kingdom, as well as its time-sensitive nature. An individual civilian requesting a behest to find their missing jewelry is not going to have the same priority as the kingdom requesting backup against an invading military force. High priority behests typically have higher rewards and fewer restrictions, but are more likely to disappear from the Behest Board more quickly than a low priority quest.
Bounty: Some behests will include a bounty, which simply means that proof must be provided that the behest was completed. The nature of the proof is listed in this category (i.e. if the behest requires an adventurer to capture a criminal, the criminal themself would be considered the bounty. If the adventurer needs to fetch a resource, that resource would be considered the bounty). Often times, Manacrystals can be provided as proof of completion, easing the burden of having to drag an entire corpse back into the city.
Reward: Fairly straight forward, the reward listed is the reward earned for completion of the bounty. Monetary value is provided flatly, meaning it does not change depending on party size, so a smaller party can try to earn more gold for themselves by taking on behests and splitting the reward between fewer participants. It is considered the party's responsibility to divide the gold up fairly, but the AGK will step in if an adventurer reports that an ally took more of the share than they deserved. The reward provided already takes into account the AGK's cut, so adventurers do not need to calculate that part.
Description: Lastly, the actual description for the behest can be found here after all the other information has been provided. This goes into greater detail on what is expected of the participating adventurer(s) and what the participating adventurer(s) can expect in return.

There are multiple types of behest provided by the AGK. Each type will be listed in the title of the behest itself, being the very first thing adventurers see when looking at the Behest Board. A single behest may have multiple types associated with it, depending on the description provided. The types of behests are as follows:

Gathering Behests: A gathering behest is one that requires the participating adventurer(s) to gather resources for the client. This generally means going out into the wilderness to collect wood, stone, lumber, minerals, etc, but can be more specific as well.
Reconnaissance Behests: A reconnaissance behest (recon for short) is one that requires the participating adventurer(s) to gather information about a specific person, place, or thing and report it back to the client. This could be anything from getting the detailed layouts of an enemy fort to something more vague like learning more information about a particular cake recipe.
Escort Behests: An escort behest is one that requires the participating adventurer(s) to safely escort the client (or client's appointed subject) from one destination to another.
Investigation Behests: An investigation behest is one that requires the participating adventurer(s) to gather intel prior to completing the behest. This is usually an additional type attached to a different type of behest, and essentially means that the client cannot or will not provide all the details necessary to complete the behest, so it falls upon the participating adventurer(s) to get the needed information elsewhere. Examples of this include finding a missing item/person or following clues to uncover criminal activity.
Military Behests: A military behest is a behest requested directly by The Kraken's Reach (Krakonia's Military . This is usually an additional type attached to a different type of behest, and essentially means that the participating adventurer(s) will receive a temporary status as a member of the Kraken's Reach appropriate to the behest, essentially gaining the authority needed in order to complete the behest.
Exploration Behests: An exploration behest is one that requires the participating adventurer(s) to explore unknown territory. This is usually an additional type attached to a different type of behest, and essentially means that the client needs the adventurer to boldly go where none have gone before, and then return with what the client has requested.
Guild Behests: A guild behest is a behest provided by one of the other Guilds of Krakonia , and generally have limitations for who can participate, which will be noted in their descriptions. Guilds tend to assign behests of their own to their own members before branching it out to the AGK, so a priority is given to those that are members of the guild. It is only after a certain period of time has passed that these guild behests become available to anyone in the AGK.
Clan Behests: Similarly to guild behests, a clan behest is a behest provided by one of the many Clans of Krakonia , and generally is only available to members of the clan, although sometimes clan behests are used as a means of recruitment into the clan in the first place. Depending on the priority, a clan behest may be available to those not within the clan, typically if the clan needs the extra assistance for a time-sensitive matter.

COMPLETED BEHESTS

Escort/Guild Behest: Travel to Little Rock
Client: The Mages Guild of Krakonia(MGK)
Rank: Follower (Rank 1)
Location: Little Rock (178.145
Approximate Distance: ~120 miles (Client is willing to cover the expenses of using the Cottontail Village teleportation circle to save time); 5 additional days by foot via road for most medium creatures; 7.5 additional days by foot via road for most small creatures; 3.75 additional days by pony via road; 3 additional days by horse via road; Sea route unavailable (See description for details); No additional teleportation circles available
Priority: Medium
Bounty: Successfully escort the client safely to the destination.
Reward: 525gp; Each participating adventurer receives a voucher for one (1) free use of a teleportation circle within the Kingdom of Krakonia.
Description: The MGK wishes to send one of their architect mages to Little Rock in order to create a new teleportation circle in the area. Normally this would be a simple affair, but rumors of bandits along the roads and pirates along the coast have the MGK wary of sending their architect mages unattended. The MGK has determined that the route along the coast, while faster, would be more dangerous, and has instead elected to take the road to the destination for safety, deeming that a small party would be less noticeable and more maneuverable than an entire sea vessel. They have requested adventurers to escort the architect mage, although have given a priority to members of the MGK. If no MGK-affiliated adventurers take the behest, it will become available to all AGK-licensed adventurers on M'Rach's 7th Oath, 50 AtD. To reach the client and begin the escort behest, seek out the MGK at Evergreen Tower. It should be noted that rumors of a new bandit settlement have cropped up along the path to Little Rock, so exercise caution when escorting the client. The MGK has offered to pay all expenses for using the teleportation circle in Cottontail Village to cut down on travel time as well as avoid some attention that would occur if the party leaves via the capital.
Completion Date: M'Rach's 14th Oath, 50AtD
Completed By: Ash of the Crooked Branch, Juniper of the Crooked Branch, Obsidian Flint, Nyveria R'vara, Bofilandr Grustlebarge, Braxford Hopeheart, Neoma
