Little Rock - 178.145

Located roughly 168 miles from Krakonia City , it takes seven days for most medium-sized humanoids to travel on foot between the capital and Little Rock (Ten and a half for most small-sized humanoids). There is a maintained road connecting the two points, making travel straightforward and relatively safe. One can also simply sail along the coast between the two points as well, most likely saving some time depending on the ship and how long it sails for without stopping. There are currently plans to install a teleportation circle, courtesy of The Mages Guild of Krakonia (MGK) and the Krakonia City Public Teleportation System (KCPTS), connecting the capital directly to the village. Once the teleportation circle is active, it will cost 35gp for a single individual to use the circle in either direction.

Little Rock is little more than a military outpost with a small village surrounding it, although it still makes for a welcome sight for weary travelers' eyes. It is mostly known for its control over Little Rock River, as there is a small toll in order for travelers to legally cross it, either by foot or by sea. The toll mostly goes towards maintaining the roads throughout the kingdom, ensuring they stay usable and protected by The Kraken's Reach patrols, although some of it also goes towards the village itself in order to maintain its status as a good resting place for travelers. It costs 1gp per person or 10gp per vehicle (whichever is cheaper), to cross this river, either by land or by sea.

The village itself consists mostly of families of those in military service at the outpost and merchants looking to sell their goods to the many travelers that pass through this location. All the typical amenities can still be found here, such as a blacksmith, an inn, a tavern, a pharmacy, a general store, etc. A good amount of farming occurs here as well, although not as much as the villages closer to the capital, since the land here hasn't been developed as consistently. As such, in order to replace the need for as much farming, there is also a sizeable number of hunters, fishers, and gatherers that make up the difference, since there is a lot of wildlife in the area. The outpost protects the citizens from Great Beasts in the area, and the hunters then go out to defeat them outside of town for food. Great Beast meat makes for a popular delicacy at the inns and taverns here, although the selling of such a product is limited to when hunters can actually acquire it.

Little Rock has suffered a bit of an economic setback lately, as rumors of bandits and pirates along the coast have made travel more dangerous. The Kraken's Reach has issued a statement claiming that they are investigating the issue, but in the meantime, travelers are encouraged to avoid sailing along the coast, and try taking the long way around the coast by land, if they aren't in a hurry. It takes an additional two days to travel around the alleged danger zone by foot, more so for parties with smaller companions. Some find it suspicious that these rumors have spread, since no one in their right mind would brave the wilds, risking injury and/or death from both Great Beasts as well as Krakonian patrols, all just to potentially make a quick buck. Regardless, the military is looking into the rumors to see if they hold any truth.
