The Mages Guild of Krakonia - MGK - Evergreen Tower
Located in the Sky District of Krakonia City , the Mages Guild of Krakonia, MGK for short, is one of the many Guilds of Krakonia that were created after The Kingdom of Krakonia was founded. Also known as Evergreen Tower, this is the home of many spellcasters, particularly those interested in the study and advancement of the arcane. The MGK is considered one of the most important guilds in the kingdom, just under The Adventurers Guild of Krakonia(AGK and The Diplomats Guild of Krakonia(DGK by most estimations, due to its heavy involvement into the research of The Dawn , as many scholars are still attempting to piece together what exactly is happening around the world, and why. This research, as well as the guild itself, is led by Samuel Evergreen , the one individual amongst the old Harbingers of the Rising Dawn that is still dedicated to resolving these seemingly unanswerable questions.
While at times, research into The Dawn may be all that the MGK seems to care about, that is far from the truth. In actuality, the MGK has a hand in just about anything involving magic throughout The Kingdom of Krakonia , being the main source of information for most mysterious affairs as an entire population of people continue to adjust to Requerm's bizarre world. There is always a need for arcane advisors in a world where something crazy and new seems to occur every day, exhausting all government officials except for the academic ones with the most passion for their own research. Those involved with the MGK's arcane research have also been credited with being the main reason the Kingdom has been able to grow as quickly as it has, with magic ultimately being used for much of the city's infrastructure, including, but not limited to, the application of Great Beast manacrystals in everyday appliances, as well as the development of the Krakonia City Public Teleportation System. As the MGK was first being developed following The Unification Wars , many of its soon-to-be associates used their arcane studies to help safely move entire buildings throughout the city, making it possible for the many new government buildings to be put in place that would be used for the prosperity of the entire kingdom. All of this was made possible due to the MGK's special, hyperspecific talents known as Architect Mages, which are essentially knowledgeable spellcasters so insanely focused on one or two architectural spells that they lack the experience necessary to cast essentially any other magic. It is thanks to these architect mages, for example, that teleportation circles were placed throughout Krakonia City, and soon the entire kingdom, something that would otherwise require general spellcasters that are as powerful as they are rare and inaccessible. It's not like Samuel Evergreen, Harbinger of the Rising Dawn, hero of the Unification Wars, and powerful archmage, could be bothered to make the circles himself.
Beyond the typical use of a spellcaster and/or researcher that the MGK provides on a regular basis, it also runs the largest, most accessible library in the kingdom, known as The Krakonia National Library(KNL . Despite being associated with the MGK, the library also contains multitudes of other subjects within its bookshelves, making it the best place to go for any kind of study, or even simple recreation, depending on the books being read. Due to this, the KNL is also used quite often as a meeting place for researchers working on collaborations, since all the books they could ever need are located within the building. The KNL is run by Lily Dreamblazer , one of the most respected officials of the KNL.
The MGK's HQ is in a building known as Evergreen Tower, a majestic, large tower named after Samuel Evergreen himself. It is the tallest building in Krakonia City that isn't directly involved with the military, with much space inside dedicated to experimentation. The tower's height in particular allows for more practical applications of teleportation magic, giving more of a reason to practice and enhance precise travel along a third axis instead of simply warping to a general, vague destination in the sky. Beyond that, wizards simply love their towers. No one really knows why every plane of existence seems to have that same fundamental preference in their spellcasters, but it's weirdly one of the most consistent facts about the known multiverse. As such, the MGK is in a tower. Go figure.
