Requerm - Plane

Requerm is the only plane that actually matters in this campaign, and is, in fact, the plane that this campaign takes place in. Okay, article over. Have a great day everyone.

Named after an ancient goddess of The First Civilization's Pantheon , Requerm is a material plane that has recently had a major upheaval in its existence, known by scholars and civilians alike as The Dawn . A bunch of people randomly appeared in Requerm from a bunch of other planes of existence, creating a bizarre amalgamation of cultures that are constantly at odds with one another. But just because the main crises of the day occurred recently, does not mean there isn't a rich history amongst the natives prior to the Dawn.

First of all, Requerm is home to the ancient First Civilization , a society that has since completely disappeared, leaving behind only ruins of a once-thriving people. Due to the mysterious ending of these people, it is a common theory that their disappearance is somehow related to the Effects of the Dawn, but this theory has yet to be definitively proven.

Additionally, many native people that are still alive to this day consider Requerm their home planet. Amongst the sentient races, these people include the Sylvildra , Vulponir , Pyrgona , Varmull , Pinnavran , Pterasit , Wyverian , Felyne , and Shakalaka . These individuals were arguably the most affected by the Dawn, as their relatively independent cultures were suddenly forced to coincide with all thes newcomers and their radical opinions.

Requerm is also home to Great Beasts , a powerful variant of normal animals that are far stronger, far larger, and far deadlier than their animal relatives. Requerm is littered with these beasts, making it quite difficult for most people to travel without fear. It is unknown just how many people first appeared in Requerm due to the Effects of the Dawn only to immediately get eaten by a great beast, but the number is estimated to be "way too fucking high." Within these great beasts, however, are powerful Manacrystals that people with survivor bias have learned to use to their advantage, powering up their gear and influencing their daily technologies.

Speaking of which, every living being in Requerm, including those that were warped here from elsewhere, has a manacrystal in their body that is the physical representation of their soul. These manacrystals are filled with arcane power that only gets stronger as their hosts gain life experiences.

As for the geography of the plane, it is divided into sixteen minor quadrants and four major quadrants, with four minor quadrants within each major one. Each quadrant has a locational name ceated by modern scholars as well as a cultural one named after the remnants of the First Civilization. Much of Requerm is still unknown to the modern individual, including the ones that have lived here since before the Dawn. It will be up to the brave adventurers of The Adventurers Guild of Krakonia(AGK) to uncover the many secrets this plane is hiding.
