This rugged midlander hyur intellectual tends to pose majestically in his fancy wizard robes, covering himself in magically-enhanced equipment while maintaining a royal elitist style. It seems magic has had a positive effect on his youthful appearance despite his age, with a full thick brown head of hair and beard. He carries with him his spellbook along with an assortment of wands for any particular situation. His Arbiter's Mark, the Black Kraken, is clearly visible over his right eye, the head of the kraken obscured by the position of his eye itself. He carries himself with dignity, politely acknowledging those near him when he notices them, but often his head is too far in his own world to recognize anyone without direct intervention.
Samuel Evergreen is the current archmage, or leader, of the The Mages Guild of Krakonia(MGK) as well as the Arcane advisor to King Daerius Quintus of Krakonia . He is known for being a rigid researcher, a brilliant mind that has uncovered many of the mysteries surrounding Requerm , and is one of the leading scholars of the The Effects of the Dawn , spending much of his time attempting to unravel the powerful enigma that led to the unique event that has affected so many people from so many different worlds.
Samuel Evergreen was among the first adventurers to appear in Requerm during the Dawn, and quickly found his place in an adventuring party known as The Harbingers of the Rising Dawn , as he was able to quickly pick up on the many arcane mysteries surrounding the realm. His interest in learning more about the world he had been thrust into kept him around despite his party's consistent need to involve themselves in the petty quarrels between men, and over time, he grew to live with it, learning that through helping others, he can further is arcane inquiries in ways he never considered before.
During The Unification Wars , Evergreen provided much needed analysis on the more arcane-oriented enemies of Krakonia, specializing in countering such threats with his own advanced magic. He ended up leading a subsection of the military dedicated to countering spells, which proved pivotal against the many different types of magic from users of many different planes of existence. Using this prestige earned during the war, he founded the MGK after the war, a guild dedicated to the discovery and development of all arcane mysteries, with an emphasis on discovering how magic works differently in Requerm compared to other known planes of existence. As the archmage, Evergreen is personally invested in every discovery made by the guild's mages, attempting to implement all of it into his own personal research. Because of the vast resources necessary for such an undertaking, Evergreen reluctantly accepts what he views as tedious and mundane quests from citizens of Krakonia in order to fund the guild's true mission statement.
Samuel Evergreen can most often be found toiling away in Evergreen Tower, the HQ for the MGK. He is not a fan of interruptions, scheduling visits between his many studies, but he is used to them as someone who used to be an adventurer. He is not unkind to those he interacts with, and has even inadvertently created an image for himself that has wooed some of the younger mages in the guild, but his passion lies not with idle chitchat, but rather his much more important research and development. He speaks in a rushed manner, always speaking in the clearest, most concise manner he can conceive of, although to those untrained in the arcane, it may still seem like he speaks in riddles and superfluous adjectives.
