The Golden Empire

The greatest empire to ever live, an empire who's reach was far, from the Northern Peaks, to the dense forests of Nerlakia. Its might was unrivaled, with not only the largest army in the world, but also the greatest, for its soldiers wielded the greatest weapons and armor on such a mass scale, with large variety of soldiers and auxillary units to help it fight. Yet, it also created great prosperity, and helped connect a wild continent, building strong and long roads that helped people of all places meet and share their cultures and ideas.

Structure

The top role of the organization during its existence was the Dragon, the equivalent of an emperor, which was held by Kaladan, the Golden Dragon. He was the one who organized and planned many of the things in the empire, with help of advisors of all types of focuses. These advisors also acted as ministers of their respective area, so they would handle less important issues but also the development of it.

The list of advisors were as follows: The Minister of Magic, who primarily focused on the research of magical items along with the further education of magic to the people, and the investigation of magical events within the imperium The Finance Minister, who's primary focus was the economy of the imperium, along with focusing on merchant's and the formation of guilds, they were also in charge of the state's treasurey and as such if any other minister wished to take out money for their own use, then they would need to go through the minister The Industry Builder, who's primary focus was on the creation of jobs within the empire, with giving government investments into start ups and then later on collecting money, along with this the creation of infrastructure in the empire, and finally the management of physical resources which also includes the management of food within the empire. The Foreign Affairs Minister, who's primary focus was on the state's diplomacy with other nations and ensuring good relations, but also on ensuring the happiness of ethnic groups within the empire

Public Agenda

The primary goals of the empire was in two parts, the first part was the focus on taking control of a lot of the continent to ensure the security of its people and to further expand and reach more resources, but as it reached its peak, the goal after that became a focus on the empire, its maintaining and its development.

Assets

At its peak, the empire had a lot of assets at its disposal, it had massive network of interconnected business and industry, leading it to become filled to the brim with silver and gold. Because of the strong economy, it allowed the development of people but also of military, allowing their armies to have state of the art armor and weapons, along with good training for all recruits. The state was able to invest in high quality roads for all corners of the empire, and was able to afford many investments into their cities, leading to booming populations.

History

In -234 BD, after the Great Slaughter, Kaladan, the Golden Dragon, finally began his empire. They began with expansion into the north west, native halfling and metallic territory, leading it to quickly expand as it assimilated clans and peoples. By the time it reached -215, the empire had swallowed up the north west and moved on to the north, conquering the goliath tribes, but not completely. As the goliaths were more suited to the peaks of the mountains, it was much tougher to conquer them, as such there are still pockets of independent tribes in the north pillars. The empire then turned its attention to the east, to the savannahs of the orc horde, the tiefling caravans, and the tabaxi tribes. It took decades until the areas finally came under the control of the imperium, and some groups still rebel due to the savannah's size, and so the year turned to -178.   Afterwhich, the imperium turned its head northward, to the dwarven lands, which they managed to join as a more vassal like group into their empire, which later became assimilated into the empire, and finally, the empire turned its head toward the chromatic's to the south, pushing them back beyond the River of Sorrow, and creating a strong border there, but with some chromatic clans still living within the empire's border. As war slowly stopped, the imperium also created better relationships with their other neighbors, even allying with the gnome nation of the Talvarians. Not all was peaceful when it came to the conquering of the empire, as the wars between tribes, nations, countries, and kingdoms, that the Empire begun were swift and brutal, with a lot of massacres and even genocides of certain groups that refused to be part of the empire.   As peace became the norm in the land, the state began its focus on itself, with the Golden Growing era officially beginning in -112, with the creation of the roads to all draken project. Thus for 112 circles, the empire grew and developed, becoming the continent's first super power, reaching unparalleled levels of prosperity and security. But, all good things must end, as with the death of the Golden Dragon, the empire splintered into many smaller states, with a massive civil war called the War of the Wyverns, between the 13 of his children.

Disbandment

The empire splintered into 13 different ones, each one being ruled by one of the Golden Dragon's children. As he never chose a clear successor, a brutal civil war began between the 13 of them, named the War of the Wyverns

Demography and Population

At its peak, the empire's borders had a population of about 50 million people, as it became the majority power of the continent.   The majority of the population lives in the north western areas and closer to the capital, as the nation's farm lands and trade hubs primarily lived there. 65% of the population were metallic drakens, 10% are halflings, 5% are humans, 2.5% are elves, 0.1% are dwarves, 0.03% are goliaths, 6% are tieflings, 3% are orcs, while 0.025% are ogres, 3% are tabaxi, 3.5% are half breeds (Half orcs, half elves, half drakens, half ogres), 1.5% are gnomes, and 0.5% are chromatic drakens.   While most mainland cities were pretty diverse, the farther out from the capital you get, the more of a minority population you'll find.

Territories

The empire went from the North Pillars, all the way down to the River of Sorrow, it spanned nearly the entire continent at its peak, with only a few states left when it stopped its expansion.

Military

At its peak, the imperium's military was vast and powerful. It had powerful armor and weapons, genius tactics, and large varieties of weapons to use against their enemy   Soldiers in the army were part of 10 men families, which three of which became 30 men clans, which ten of made up a gathering which were led by Salams, and five gatherings become a march which are led by a Scales, and five marches become one warband, which are led by Wyverns, who were second in command behind a Drake, who acted as generals and usually had control of three warbands. At the empire's peak, there were 13 different Drakes, meaning the regular draken army reached a number of 292,500 soldiers. Meanwhile auxillary soldiers were numbered around 75,000 troops, meaning the total military might was around 367,000 strong.

Technological Level

The imperium helped lead to further research into magic, allowing for more people to develop their talents but also to investigate and research new and powerful magic, allowing for more education to the masses. Along with this, healthcare was made much more available thanks to the easy transportation of medicinal herbs, ointments, and even potions for those that could afford it.

Foreign Relations

The imperium kept close relations with all of their neighbors, except the Chrom empire since it is a chromatic draken state. It kept a close alliance with the Talvarians, and trade relations with Konken, but never had a close relationship with Glamdring besides respectful diplomatic meetings and trying to at the very least ensure their neutrality and to avoid them attacking them empire.

Agriculture & Industry

The agricultural centre of the empire was the north western province, the halfling lands, as most farms were created there and were key to the overall population of the empire, hence it was heavily protected and guarded and the routes it took around the empire were also heavily guarded.   The dwarven peaks to the north east became the industrial capitals of the empire, due to the massive dwarven foundries there.

Trade & Transport

The most common mode of transport for trade was through caravan travel, but some places on the west side would use ships as transport, but it was usually more expensive and as such were less common. Due to the quality of the roads throughout the imperium, travel was rarely troublesome, and there were always garrisons ready in case of bandits. Most transportation used Aurochs to get around, due to their strength and endurance.   On top of this, they helped connect the northern and southern part of the continents, through the creation of large tunnels passing through the skyscrapers that help reach through to the other side, creating major trade hubs along the way. On top of this, they helped develop further naval trade, as to reach the Konken and Talvarian lands to trade precious goods and resources.

Education

While the vast majority of the populace were uneducated, there were more systems for education for the common person to pursue, with large schools being created in certain areas of the empire, allowing a person to gain a more formal education in things other than trades. The top students would even be able to earn investments to go to the capital to go to the Great Minds Mansion, where the top educators and academics called home. While Draken would always be the majority students, there were some other races who excelled, such as elves, gnomes, and tieflings who far exceed their demographics.

Infrastructure

The state had high quality stone roads that reached most if not all places in the empire, allowing for easy travel around the whole continent, along with many garrisons along the roads for better safety. While sewage systems weren't advanced, there were basic systems for waste to be moved to farms where it could be used as fertilizer, while others had simple systems of dumping it in the ocean or wilderness. Along the roads, its common for either them to be guarded by small forts of warbands, or small clans in towers to ensure safety of the people traveling.

Those that enforce the law are known as the Galms, which act as individual officers that act on case by case basis, and patrol the cities and enforce the law when needed. When needed to, they can also act as guards for important areas.
