The Chrom Empire

Structure

The Chrom Empire is a theocratic state, with the three prophets at the top who guide the people through interpreting the ancient dragon flow who tells them what needs to be done. Right below them is the Guide, who acts as a messenger of the prophets, and helps carry out their orders. While the Guide does have power, if its believed they are abusing their power and not following what the prophets say, then they are quickly exiled for their abuse against the people.

Public Agenda

The main goal of the Chrom Empire is simple, the preservation and survival of the Chromatic Drakens, their way of life, their lives, and their culture. They wish to protect their people from outside forces, such as the old imperium.

Assets

Due to the intense war, and infighting of its past, the Empire is very weak, with many of its fortifications still ruined and destroyed. The main cities are only beginning to rebuild themselves and reap a small bit of prosperity. Due to a lack of funds as well, it hasn't been able to import anything from any neighbors like the Konken or Talvarians, so they've been on their own. The few assets it does have is a zealot army that truly believes in its prophets, along with a highly motivated populace that work hard to rebuild what they have..

History

The Chrom Empire was born from the ashes of the previous states that ruled over the Chromatic Drakens, warring amongst each other and vying for power. From the endless infighting, the Chrom Empire began to establish itself, beginning first as a religious organization and then expanding to the point of becoming a geopolitical force. Led by the three prophets, the people of Chrom had something to genuinely believe in and to fight for in such a dark age for the people.   The fighting for power was brutal and merciless, as the despotic kings and queens of the Chromatic homeland refused to release their power for the greater good of the people, leading to mass rebellions and revolution and the execution of the tyrants. Luckily, around this time was when the War of the Wyverns was taking place up in the north, so they had little to worry for a northern force attempting to move south and stopping the Empire. The fighting finally ended as the empire reached the infamous river crossing into the former imperium, and thus focused on their own people, this being in 32 AD.   The empire was still in shambles, but now the Chromatic people finally had the safety and security so mamy wished for, and thus rebuilding began. The prophets will lead the way for the people, so that finally, they may once more become a proud people, and mayhaps even regain their lands to the north. As of now, due to the chaos of the north, they have been able to expand their influence beyond the burning river into the hill lands, encroaching beyond the previous imperium's lands

Demography and Population

The vast majority of the population are Chromatic Draken, the state being incredibly universe in ethnicities besides the colors of the draken. One will only find some woodland people on the north east outskirts of the empire, where some tribes live, isolated from the empire's power and jurisdiction.

Military

The military of the nation is weak at best, and pathetic at worst, when compared to its neighbours. Most of its professional soldiers are still being trained and growing, due to the massive amounts of wars that it had to fight to get to this point. Thus, most of its army is comprised of zealots who chose themselves to join the army. Because of this however, their military is quickly growing and developing, thanks to the incredibly hard work and motivation of their new recruits, so the state of its military will most likely soon change, as it earns more money as well to invest into better armor and weapons.

Technological Level

Chrom, for all intents and purposes and especially in comparison to the Imperium to the north of them, is a backwater state. Technology has regressed due to many of its previous minds either having moved to the north for safety or have been killed thanks to the vicious tyrants in their people's history. As such, they've been forced to either try and get their minds back, or to try and rediscover and relearn many things that are necessary for the Empire's future. As an example, the ability to make healing potions is completely gone, and they have yet to learn to proper method or recipe to create it, and thus far more people are getting sick or dying early than other nations.

Religion

The Dragon Reverence is a part of everyday life within the empire, as the vast majority of its people believe in it. The religion is the primary power within the society too, with people praying to the dragons every morning before they go to work, and people eagerly awaiting the next messages from the prophets.

Foreign Relations

The Empire has pretty tense relationships with most of its neighbours, but especially with the now 13 Wyvern states up north, due to their history with the now dissolved imperium. Along with this, their relationship with Glamdringer has reached a increasingly dangerous level, due to racial and resources tensions between the two states.

Agriculture & Industry

The nation has very little agriculture to speak off, as lands and farms are still being developed after wars and battles destroyed the ones that were there at one point, so many people still end up going hungry sometimes because of this. Along with this, industry is not very well developed, with the one real one existing is that of mining gems within the southern hills, where the lifeblood of the country comes.

Trade & Transport

Transport is very difficult throughout the lands of Chrom, due to many roads having been ruined and thus making it far more difficult for goods to be moved around the empire, especially food.

Education

Education is incredibly limited, especially in comparison to other nations on the same continent. However, there is one path that does allow for a degree of education, and that is to become a dragon priest, where a person is able to learn to read and write and to receive a proper education, hence why its common for many children to be sent to be priests, as even if they end up not being able to become priests, they learn to be able to read and write, something which becomes incredibly useful to them later on in life.
