Arjan, King of Lonyth, the 4th

Arjhan Kulsavas (a.k.a. The Prophet of Gold)

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The 4th child of the Golden Dragon and Bronze Queen, Arjan, who was a very talkative and intelligent child as he grew within Gatherlak. Even as a child, he learned quickly how to persuade others to do what he wanted, whether that be giving him a piece of fruit, or letting him sneak out from his parents home during the night. He was a very social person as well, happily making friends and speaking to people. Some even joked that when he was young, Arjan would be able to talk a soldier out of his weapons, a merchant out of his gold, and an artist out of his masterpiece.   He was a very studious person as he grew up, happily learning all he could and expanding his knowledge. His main enjoyment he drew from this was rather having conversations with his fellow students and even teachers, from small talk to debates on the nature of the mortal soul. He would very commonly go down to the city to spend time with people, commonly disguising his identity so he would be able to talk like a normal human being, taking great interest in the plight and lives of the average denizen.   He didn't find his true calling until he finally began taking interest in business. It started simple, he decided one day to borrow money from his father, and chose to invest said money into a start up transportation business that was attempting to create a far easier service for the average person to use when it comes to moving their goods. His investment helped the company quickly invest into carriages and other things along with employees, which helped it quickly explode onto the city, as it became the primary transport service for it.   Thus thanks to his investment, he managed to become a major share holder of the business, which allowed him to pay off his debt to his father with interest, and then use his money to further invest. This is when he finally decided to move north to Lukton, an area known for its agriculture but sadly also for its poor infrastructure and investments into the small city, as it was a upstart with a lot of bad luck. Arjan quickly turned that on its head, by being the first person to invest into it.   He helped make the small village a major power within the province of Lonyth, as it very quickly grew to an immense size thanks to the opportunities it provided to immigrants and migrants, thus helping business boom and making the city more and more prosperous. From the talvarians to the stonemen to the orgors, many people of all walks of life came to Lukton for the promise of work and business. Thus it made the city become a major hub for trade for the north western part of the empire, along with making it a producer and seller of a variety of goods from tools to food to stone.   Because of being a majority owner of the city due to his investments, he would end up becoming the de facto leader of it, which he was then able to spread his influence to the other cities within Lonyth, allowing him to become a true controller of the province along with making him one of the richest people on the entire continent. His influence helped make the once fractured area of Lonyth to finally work together for a common goal, with Lukton being the symbol of their hard work.   His work was interrupted however, as he was forced to return to his home in Gatherlak, for his father did not feel well and it was not known how long he would live. As his siblings returned, he knew that even if his father chose a successor among them, it would end in war or some form of conflict. So he began his plan, he sent word to his people to build weaponry and armor, and he conspired amongst his siblings.   Alas, his father chose no successor, thus began the War. Arjan was quick and brutal in his expansion, quickly spreading his borders and power. But like most, he as well reached stalemate and was unable to move forward, as the Silence began. It was a tough and testy time for Lonyth, with civil war coming very close to erupting, but Arjan was able to keep them under control.   Now with the discovery of the Golden Frontier, there is time for great opportunity for both power and business. A colony in this strange and new place could lead to unimaginable business and prosperity, and Arjan is not one to let such things pass him by. One must wait and see however to see to what extent he is willing to pursue it.

Education

Arjan is a very savvy mind by himself, but made even more dangerous with the knowledge within his mind. He's very knowledgable in most subjects, but most would rather speak more of his creativity rather than his knowledge, having learnt from the best when it comes to creating paintings he either sells or keeps for himself. His favorite subject is then that of the arts, both of the visual in painting and the art of acting, knowing many of the philosophers and actors and directors within the subject

Mental Trauma

While overall Arjan is known to be a kind hearted and open soul, many speak of that he can be very brutal when it comes to business, and is very opportunistic, along with being exceptionally vengeful to those who slight him. There's a specific reason for this, and that he is a very passionate person, and thus very emotional as well, which can lead to him acting disproportionate to things happening to him.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

As mentioned before, Arjan is a patron of the arts, a man who loves not only creating art and painting his own artworks using vibrant colors of thee beautiful views he looks upon. On top of this, he enjoys watching theatre, and loves discussing art and creativity of any kind, whether it be surprising twists or ambiguous endings, and is known as a patron for many artists.   Arjan despises brutish displays, especially that of aggressive people trying to establish dominance. As such, despite encouraging it within his own city to earn revenue, he has little interest or like of wrestling, thinking it is a sport for simpletons who are too simpleminded to enjoy truer forms off entertainment like art.
