Kadana, the Chosen of Verithia, the 3rd

Kadana Kulsavas (a.k.a. The Stone Dragon)

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The 3rd child of the Golden Dragon and Bronze Queen, Kadana, was a very troublesome child when she grew within the burgeoning palace in Gatherlak. Even when she first learned to walk, she would always find trouble. She'd get into fights with the other kids, and being much larger for her age she'd always win these fights, lie a lot to those around her for little reason except for the sake of it but without malicious intent. She would end up becoming a bully to a lot of those around her, but without intending to do it, as her humor was just so abrasive to all those around her.   To little surprise, she quickly became lonely and had no friends as she grew. Thus, she had a lot of time to herself, and after many attempts to connect to those around her, she ended up focusing on herself instead. One day in class she had learnt of an old technique from the stonemen to the north, a technique of self control where one would become as still as possible while on one's knees and hands on both sides of the chest in a fist. Thus she would spend much of her free time doing this, and in turn became closer connected to the flow of magic around her.   Her fascination simply grew from there as she became more and more entranced with the monasteries of the southern stonemen, those who lived south of the peaks. She would study the scrolls speaking of them, trying to imitate their moves and learn their philosophy. This would all come to its peak when a monk would arrive to Gatherlak, and became a tutor for her, as the two became very close in their mentor and tutor relationship, Kadana began her journey to become a minkwar, one of the stone.   After learning much from her tutor, she finally set out to the Veritihian lands to the south of the peaks, where the minkwar monasteries found themselves. She entered into one of the large ones quickly, and rose in the ranks at an astounding rate, surprising both peers and elders alike. She truly became like stone, both in mind, soul, and body, as she mastered her movements and the flow around her to become a powerful magic wielder. She learned many of the difficult and even ancient techniques and mastered them.   The elders saw potential in her, and as such, she became the first person in many years to be selected for a chosen trial. Few know exactly what this trial entails, and much of it is simple rumor, but many know that there are very few people chosen and even fewer succeed, and those that do become the mythical chosen of minkwar. Kadana became a chosen, first one to become it after many centuries. The elders quickly laid their hands before her, and she became the true leader of Verithia.   One of the first things she did as a Chosen was to begin sending monks on missions out into the continent, to spread their knowledge and philosophy. This decision became key in the growing population and popularity of Verithia, as it became very popular to many people among the continent, leading many to go to see these monasteries, and some even to immigrate, and among them some to become part of the monasteries. Many joined, and the monasteries grew bigger and bigger in size.   This all came to a pause as she was quickly forced to return to Gatherlak for her father, for his end was nearing. However, much unlike her siblings, she refused to partake in the game of politics, rather choosing to meditate and prepare for the coming storm, for she knew her father's heart would never be able to choose among his children, for that would become his one flaw. She sent word to the elders to prepare for war and death, for it would come rising above the peaks and the stone.   It was as she predicted, her father chose none, and so began the War of the Wyverns. Unlike most placed, Verithia managed to stay safe in its entirety, because no other states took any interest in attacking it both for the lack of benefits of gaining land further north but also because of the danger of attacking a land where such a high concentration of people who are able to manipulate the flow live. And so, the people who lived within stayed safe, even becoming a haven for many refugees fleeing the war.   And so it stands, much like the stone the minkwar attempt to emulate, in peace. Many refugees now call Verithia, and are kept safe within its borders. However, there are news coming that the stonemen tribes of the north are either becoming more bold or desperate and are raiding the south. How Kadana shall solve this, few know, for the mystery of the Chosen grows by each passing day.

Education

While Kadana is a very knowledgable person as she quickly learnt most of what was put in front of her, she had little interest in it, much unlike or much like her siblings. Her biggest education is that of mysticism and the many tribes that lived within the empire, taking a great interest in foreign cultures and happily taking every opportunity she could get to learn or experience another culture, which has helped her work well with other groups of people

Failures & Embarrassments

Whether its self imposed or simply how she is, Kadana can seem to be a very apathetic being, much like the stone she emulates. While she has shown kindness and compassion through protecting those around her, when it comes to more trivial matters, she simply finds little reason to even care and most of the time simply sends those who would bother her with such things away, meaning she rarely ever cares about the complex relations mortals can have with each other.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Kadana is a very physical person, as she was one to love fighting when she was younger. As such, that passion has never truly gone away, as one of her biggest passions is that of draken wrestling, both for participating and for watching. On top of this, she strongly enjoys the training of mind and body in the form of riddles and physical exercise, along with debates related to philosophy when it comes to being a minkwar and making her own forms of speech and minkwar riddles.   If there is one thing she really does dislike, its that of personal drama among people, for there are few things other than that she finds even more uninteresting, believing people to be childish and should be more of stone in mind rather than water. Along with this, she despises unnecessary violence, and is quick to react to anyone using such against anyone, regardless of who, which has made her come into conflict with a lot of people.
