Gargax, Emperor of Boven, the 11th

Gargax Kulsavas (a.k.a. The Warborn)

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The 11th child of the Golden Dragon and Bronze Queen, Gargax, much unlike his younger sister of Harann, was a incredibly loud, hyper, and excitable child as he grew. While he did have friends, he was such an extreme child growing up that it was tough for him to have many friends that didn't get scared of his brash personality. He would end up getting into a lot of fights, especially those that were being bullies to those around him, as he was quick to give retribution.   Not a day would go by where Gargax wouldn't try to wrestle someone, whether it be a friend, a random person on the street, his siblings, his father, or even his own mother. Despite not being with ill intent in his actions, it would make people see him as an impulsive asshole, which would end up with him alienating many of those around him, with others even avoiding him altogether. Despite this, Gargax would become even more stubborn in his own personality, refusing to be suppressed. When he began his education into war, thats when the child like innocence took a much more sinister turn.   Gargax took to the study of war and combat with extreme fervor, studying and learning and training as much as he could. Even amongst his own family he was incredibly strong even from a young age, but he also had a natural feel for combat that some of his other siblings had as well. He studied how to use all forms of weapons, from spears to great axes, and also studied tactics and combat, becoming a military mind that rivaled his own father. This as mentioned however turned sinister, as Gargax became more and more brutal and unforgiving of those around him that trained with him, failure being of absolute disdain to him. Few people were able to catch up to him either in pure skill or pure physicality.   This led him to be tasked with the city of Boven, the great city of the savannah, the midpoint between the Daerlman to the north, Falin to the east, the Urkur to the west, and Orgor to the south. The entire savannah still had problems with some roving bands that refused to cowtow to the empire, and sometimes raided villages and attacked caravans. Gargax found his calling, and was quick and effective in his implementation of strategies to combat these tribes. What the empire was unable to tame, within a few years, Gargax had full control of. Thus, a certain amount of respect grew from the four peoples towards Gargax, as his strong will and efficiency gained a lot of respect from the locals.   As time went on, a degree of zeal grew amongst the people when it came to Gargax, with people being genuinely proud of being led or being under control of him. This would start becoming a more concrete idea, as Gargax returned to Gatherlak as he received the news of his father decline in health. While he did care a lot for his father, his primary focus was that of the future, and the back up plan for in the case of their father not choosing a successor. Thus, he tried his best to turn his siblings against each other and focus away their attention from him, while he stayed in contact with his generals and preparing for war.   His father chose no successor, and so the War of the Wyverns began. Gargax was surrounded by his siblings on all sides, and while some focused on each other, he knew he had to be aggressive and effective if he wished to cement his power. Thus he began attacking his neighbors, quickly gaining territory and land through his tactics and strategy, sometimes easily beating his foes.   Despite how much land he gained, Boven ended up in a very bad position when the war turned to stalemate and became the Silence. The Boven lands were primary trade hubs for the empire as a whole, and now with the empire shattered, it would need to sustain itself. A lot of people would end up without food, meaning he had to make deals with his youngest brother Uadjit to ensure his people wouldn't starve. Along with this, he spent further effort in growing his military might, with his greatest success being that of the Wyvern Knights in the end years of the war.   As he develops his lands, reducing how much he needs to rely on others for his empire, and further grows his armies, he prepares for the right moment to strike. Now, with his siblings distracted by the promise of some continent to the west, he bides his time for when he can strike, and become the Emperor.

Education

Gargax's education is in two parts. The first part being of formal education, which Gargax lacks in comparison to his siblings, at least in terms of general education. He had little interest of books as he grew, rather choosing to do other things like wrestle instead of reading. The second part is his military education, which Gargax is a borderline genius within, for he not only had great talent for it but also a great interest within it.

Mental Trauma

Because of his strong will but extreme personality, Gargax despises failure of any kind and from any one. He believes anything less than success is simple failure, and he can be quick to dismiss people based on simple failures. He is however harshest to himself, as he believes he must be even stronger and cunning than he is now if he wishes to expand his empire.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Gargax loves physical competition of any kind, especially that of Draken Wrestling, being incredibly proficient at it. He also enjoys playing in his mind or against others military situations and seeing if he can solve them and win the battle.   Gargax's dislike is simple, he hates the droning on of discussions of topics like geography or herbology. It is simply too boring, not because its not a physical activity, but because in his opinion; it doesn't stimulate the mind like military theory does, where the situations are much more real and a real problem to solve.
