Season 4, Episode 6: "Tesin Movahesh" Report

General Summary

The Dream Team laid down for a restless night, as Lockette unlocked her predecessor's Slatebook Pro, and Mist dove into the troubling files of Tesin Movahesh. Horrified by why the Ysoki saw, Mist held a group intervention in the morning, and convinced Tesin that it was time to take drastic measures. Utilizing the gifts of the Daughters of Night and the Blessing of the Surgeon, Tesin was lowered into unconsciousness, her mind arranged in such a way that it could have the best chance for recovery.   Over the course of a four day period, Tesin slumbered in her psyche -- the pieces slowly clicking into place -- before an all-out war broke out within her mind. Faced by the Shrouded Lady, the cursed aspect of Moscaroth, and her many Splinters, the fight for Tesin's mind was swift and fraught with near-losses. Matters became so dire that Tesin was forced to invoke the Blessing of the Songbird, bolstering her allies and destroying the majority of her enemies, picking off the remainder by what would arguably be sheer luck. But a victory is a victory, and so Tesin Movahesh came fully into her mind, free of all manias and outside influences.   Meanwhile, the group split off into various factions, hoping to heal themselves and their people:
  • Mist decided it was time to rid himself of his brother's influence, and used two Mnemonic Editors to restructure his brain. During the intense psychosurgey, he was visited by Tommen, sensing the Ysoki road the border between life and death, and shared with him the state of this celestial conflict (see The Wind Stills for more information). He shared this vision with the party, and then set out to Absalom Station, following rumors of Melody. As the information from the Beekeeper claimed, the Technomancer was quite capable, and agreed to work with the Dream Team on two conditions -- 1.) When the group opened the door in the City of Pleated Light, Melody would go with them, and 2.) Mist must show his own skill, and unveil the mystery of Melody's occupation before sunset. Scrambling for answers, Mist summoned a very old rendition Nicholas Carter, eventually discovering that Melody was the head of the Black Yakuta. After vocalizing his answer, Melody swore on her power to never betray the team or their secrets while she was employed, and to act in their best interest. Mist made a similar pact, and work on the Access Beacon commenced.
  • Eager for more information after unlocking her tablet, Lockette invoked the Blessing of the Seer, learning that T.R.A.V.I.S. was once a Lashunta, and gave his life to power the Aga Jain. In addition, the Seer granted Lockette the ship's original designs, which would grant her a considerable advantage in repairing the A.I.'s core. Still not satisfied, Lockette then invoked the Blessing of the Faded, crumbling into ash. Lockette saw visions of the Knights of Dawn, the origins of the Starstone and the First Ones, and the fate of the Knights of Mystic Fire (see They Have Forgotten Us). As such knowledge crossed the Infinite Line, Lockette was assaulted by a servant of Pharasma, and saved by the Blessing of the Disciple -- now revealed to be the godly manifestation of Grandsmith.
  • Isra began the arduous task of rebuilding the Forge, employing Cromwell and Denerin as her lieutenants. In short order, shelters began to rise in the yet-named capital, and the elevator was repaired. The Aspis Consortium supplies were siezed, and Denerin began training the new Children of the Forge to hunt inside the portals. With the Order of the Scourge still hovering nearby, no one has been brave enough to approach the planetoid, and thus an age of peace has begun.
The group then reconvened on Ezorod, helping Melody to get settled, and waiting for Tesin to recover. While tumultuous, the Dream Team was once again on the right path, progressing towards the next step in their ever-growing mountain of tasks.

Notes

Special shout-out to Lockette's player, who controlled one of the earlier "Assassin Tesins", and came so close to victory that Tesin's player had to invoke the Blessing of the Songbird (which this particular Assassin Tesin was immune to, being True Neutral). I'm convinced that without that boon, she 100% would have lost!
