Season 1, Episode 7: "Meatball Mania" Report
General Summary
Knocked unconscious by the Warden, Mining Team 6 found themselves once more in the Dreamlands. They spiraled through visions of great import, including a meeting between Alexander Marcus, Uma Pencile, the Warden, and - a new addition - Corporal Gregar Taxus (see The Round Table - Part 2 for more information). Afterwards, they tumbled into the past of Skiv, gaining insight on the crime that put him on Varos, and the job he agreed to, now revealed to be given by Vaughn Blackblood (see The Dragon Egg for more information).
While next it seemed that the party would fall deeper into dreams, Skiv seemed to call out to the Dreamer, and intervened directly. He guided Tesin through her initial Blessing, The Howl, which created a chain reaction of sonic onslaughts. Mining Team 6 burst from their cryogenic prisons, rupturing the dream, the sound carrying to kill several Lashunta scientists and two Barathu guards. They appeared to have black fluid dripping from their eyes and ears, which Chad recognized as being similar to the kind used in rituals on Aucturn.
After gathering their gear, Lockette pilfered a cracked datapad from one of the scientists, and used their still-open computer to download all the data available on the device. From the same terminal, she was able to free Ferro and Ragarot from similar cryobeds, but their bloodstream had been infected with cold iron, and thus they were unable to function.
Mining Team 6 then burst from holding, taking down some Barathu guards on their way to the Mess Hall, and then their original cells. They met the ghost of Kilo, who shared the code to the nuclear warhead hidden in their toilet, and unlocked the grenade belt found previously. She said nothing before vanishing, but her request was clear - destroy the Sauna.
With renewed vigor, Mining Team 6 turned back the way they came, gunning down several more checkpoints before arriving in the Warden's office, now warped to block access to the nearby hangar. Although he verbally disapproved of Team 6 - and from the visions granted by the Dreamer, preferred Team 5 - he gave preferential treatment to Chad (although this was partially enhanced by a charm spell). Still, the Barathu gave the party a run for their money, and exhausted many of their resources found in their journey. But even stones wither away, and soon the Warden was reduced to a pool on the ground, and the way to the hangar opened.
There, Mining Team 6 set the nuclear warhead for 10 minutes, fired up the engines of the remaining Barathu interceptors, and launched from the hangar bay - plotting a course for the Jasper...
