Sauna Station
Sauna Station was a fireproof hub on the surface of Varos, where prisoners from the Sauna were sent to gather their gear and mine the planet’s surface. While it did possess cooling units, the area was barely colder than the surrounding environment, and prisoners were known to die while waiting in line for their armor.
The station had no permanent residents, and was kept powered off overnight to avoid wasting the precious battery reserves – which were refueled only once every six months.
Secret Unlocked: The Countdown
Lockette found that the suit closet on the station lead to a hidden hallway, which ended in a door with a broken handle, leading to the battery bay. This large energy source was powerful enough to operate a modest starship, but was fastened tightly in place, and was adorned with a very strange Azlanti star terminal... The screen had been counting down in an alien language for months, but before its destruction, it had begun to reveal characters that look alarmingly likes 0s, as if signifying a countdown. By Lockette's estimate, the terminal would be all 0s in at most three weeks (from the 12th of Gozran), and was primed to fire all the coil guns around the station when the Sauna and the Jasper were aligned in orbit. Lockette discovered there was a network connection to the countdown module, meaning someone outside the station was keeping an eye on it...
