The Smog Pit

The Smog Pit is a barren wasteland on the planet of Varos, and is considered one of the most dangerous regions to explore.

Geography

While there are few volcanic rifts in this area, an ever-present cloud of smoke stretches up into the atmosphere, making breathing impossible without life support, and severely lowering visibility. Unlike most of the planet, exposure to the heat of the Smog Pit without a suit is not an instant death sentence, but all who have tried experience first degree burns and severe discomfort.

Fauna & Flora

Rumor states that there are monsters that roam the Pit, but any who have found them have not returned to tell the tale.

Natural Resources

Satellite scans suggest that there are rare minerals buried beneath the crust of the Smog Pit, but the danger has made the mining of these resources an undesirable endeavor.
