Zane (a.k.a. Skiv)
Zane, also known by Skiv, is an ancient Kami that takes the guise of a Tiefling, dedicated to the preservation of life in the Material Plane. He currently works for Ferro as a member of his G.O.L.A.R.I.O.N. team, but his loyalty lies with the Order of the Dragon.

Personal history
As far as the Dream Team is aware, Zane was a servant of Vaughn Blackblood for thousands of years, executing his will and strengthening the Spire. It was on Vaughn's orders that Zane took the name and face of "Skiv", infiltrating Varos in secret to keep watch on the Warden and the Varos Experiment. Skiv remained there for nearly twenty years, serving on every team at one point or another, and then eventually landed in the newly-formed Mining Team 6 as a Scout. As one of the rare few among the incarcerated that could stand the heat of Varos without a protection suit, Skiv was considered very valuable to the Barathu – made even more so by his supposed life sentence.
During Mining Team 6's escape from the prison, it became increasingly obvious that Skiv was not who he claimed to be, later reinforced by visions of the past granted by the Dreamer. Still, he proved a necessary ally, and eventually, a close friend. At the end of their trials aboard the Jasper, Zane was at last free of Vaughn's influence, and awarded the final dragon eggs still sought by his Order. He bid the party farewell, gifting them his fake eye -- with over an hour of edited footage stored inside the installed camera -- and then returned to the Guildmaster.
It isn't clear what transpired in the interim, but House Terris eventually discovered that Skiv had begun working for Ferro at the behest of the Guildmaster.

Intellectual Characteristics
Skiv has a long-standing reputation for being irritable, and rarely speaks more than a few words at once. Having been in the Sauna for nearly two decades, he was well-versed on the in’s and out’s of the prison, and has a keen eye for staying out of trouble. That being said, he is certainly no pushover – inmates who threatened him were often found dead a few days later, all while Skiv read calmly in his cell.
The group has found Zane to be more friendly than his imprisoned persona, although still critical after millenia of what essentially amounts to slavery under Vaughn's rule. Even though he works for an opposing team, Zane was still willing to go out of his way to help the Dream Team during their fight against General Khaim, despite no clear benefit to himself.
