Although Vaughn is not secretive about his name, the masses know him better as the King of the Spire, an S-Class criminal said to rule over the intergalactic black market, with a network of influence stretching to the barely-charted edges of the Vast.
He is known for his malignant intelligence, which is best seen in his unmatched affinity for tactics. Vaughn appears to a merchant only when he wants to, and is never caught unaware. This has made it impossible for the Stewards to track him down, and all bounties on Vaughn's head died out over the decades. It is said that any item that passes through the market eventually passes through Vaughn's hands. It is by his whim that these wares remain in circulation, and many merchants and thieves would kill for a chance to peek at his collection.

General Physical Condition
Vaughn is quite large for an Oni, and bears an alarming amount of muscle for his age. From an unknown time in the Gap until 317 AG, Vaughn bore a nasty scar on his spine given to him by Caesura, which was cursed such that the would would not properly heal. This seemed to greatly limit the Oni's magical abilities, but also left him stationary on the throne in the Spire.
In 317 AG, when the Forge found itself under threat by the Hellknight Order of the Scourge, Entity removed her brother's curse, in return for the planetoid's safety.
Special abilities
While possibly attributable to his expansive network of contacts, Vaughn possesses the uncanny ability to access even the most esoteric sections of the market, whether they be lawful or illicit. According to the superstitions that surround him, everything that touches the market passes through the Spire in some capacity, whether that be information of the open sale, or the physical item itself. Vaughn picks and chooses what is of interest to him, and thus builds his legendary collection one purchase at a time.
Specialized Equipment
Vaughn is never seen without his wooden staff, and the massive lantern/backpack strapped around his shoulders. While their exact function isn't known, they glow with a dim, dangerous aura, implying that they might be artifact-level magic items.

While Vaughn never discusses his past directly, his identity as an Oni directly ties him to the lands of Tian Xia, and no section of his wares is as expansive as artifacts of the lost eastern continent.

While never stated explicitly, the history walls in his old abode seem to imply Vaughn was of noble blood, and was killed alongside his lover due to political machinations. Those familiar with the Mirror of Azlant would know of Vaughn's imprisonment there, having been drawn to the Spire's energy not long after the transformation of his vengeful spirit. It seems he skipped the usual restrictions surrounding the Mirror of Azlant by making a deal with the gods, which lead to his ability to traverse the Material Plane with the Spire. Vaughn has been floating about ever since, building his power base throughout the Gap, leading to his status as King of the Spire.

Vaughn makes no illusions that he is motivated by power and money, and every step he takes is another on the road to cosmic supremacy. However, he has never shared what he intends to do with such power, and becomes uncharacteristically coy when asked directly.
