Entity Character in The Centurion's Riddle | World Anvil

Entity

Helen Bronsun (a.k.a. Entity)

Entity is a powerful planar creature that lives near the core of the Forge, and is responsible for teaching the Children of the Forge the secrets of witchwarping. They seem to have arrived on the planet around 300 AG, although there is no written record of their first appearance. Cromwell is the only Android known to have actually seen or spoken with Entity, and thus most envision them as a vague, celestial shape.   Those who have met Entity know that she is actually (or perhaps, also) a powerful Linnorm that often takes the form of a serpentine humanoid.

Physical Description

Special abilities

Helen can transform to and from her original form (that of a mighty Linnorm) at will, although she rarely steps outside of her humanoid body in the Forge. While she generally sticks to the same physical features, she is capable of changing them as it pleases her.

Apparel & Accessories

Not only does Helen not wear any clothing, she seems to recoil at the idea, and claims mortals are stupid for covering their true skin.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Helen has shared very little of her past, but claims to have been a prisoner on Golarion for millennia, until a "sweet boy" freed her with a powerful Wish. She immediately fled the planet - thus escaping most of the consequences of the Gap - and hibernated on various planets across the universe. Eventually she found the Forge, and decided to stay in order to help Cromwell and his people.   At some point Helen became affiliated with the Abbey of Haze, and has been granted the Blessing of the Dreamer.

Gender Identity

Female (Helen) / Genderless (Entity)

Sexuality

Pansexual

Education

Helen appears to be very educated, despite not having any degrees or formal training. She is a master of witchwarpery, and has in-depth knowledge of the arcane arts.

Mental Trauma

Helen endured some kind of mental break very long ago, which has rendered her unable to speak in anything but lies. While she tries her best to warn those who first engage in conversation with her, those who are slow on the draw irritate her, and thus Helen isolates herself from most people.

Morality & Philosophy

Despite her age, Helen can often appear to have the social morality of a child, and often confuses what mortals would call right and wrong. She sees no problem in killing someone who gets in her way, and has a limited understanding of cruelty. That being said, Helen's intentions are often geared towards helping the damned and imprisoned, such as the Children of the Forge, and she has a great respect for proper manners.
