While publicly presented as a loose association of Awarthan “business concerns,” the Accord’s true purpose is to ensure its members’ dominance over the city’s economy, and its resources.

The Accord is structured like a vast, invisible machine, its influence extending into every Hold, every factory, and every trade route. While its members openly own industries and businesses, their greatest strength is the hidden system of debts, contracts, and rituals that binds Awarth to their control.

Their semi-secret nature gives them power in two worlds. To the public, they are respectable industrialists, bankers, and "pillars of the city." To those in the know, the Argent Accord is a monolith of shadowy control and esoteric rituals, one step removed from the occult horrors of The Blast.
