The Concordium
The Concordium is the ruling council of The Argent Accord, composed of seven anonymous members who steer Awarth’s economy from the shadows. Each member dons an Argent Mask, a featureless silver visage marking their severance from personal identity while in service to the Accord. The Concordium’s decisions are final, and their decrees shape trade routes, debt cycles, and market values across The Blasted Isles. Their central meeting chamber is within The Auric Exchange, though they are rarely seen in public.
Each member represents a different facet of financial power—contracts, debts, diplomacy, and enforcement—ensuring the Accord’s unrelenting grip on the city’s economy. The Concordium views the flow of money and Gree as a living system, one that must be carefully maintained through ritualized bookkeeping and mathematical precision. They believe that controlling wealth is controlling fate, and they extend their influence not only through Awarth but across the Blasted Isles.
The Concordium operates under a veil of ritual secrecy. Members are known only by titles, and their votes are recorded in The Great Ledger. Failure to meet the Concordium’s expectations results in financial ruin, exile, or worse, with rumors of ritualized punishment for traitors.
