Session 71: Faith in Nosferian

February 19th, 2023

Fifthday, Fourthden, the Harvest Moon, 748 AC

The party disemarks from The Evervictorious after learning that Astrid Sifsdoterdoterdoterdoter lived in a part of Gartcha known as the Nerrid Quarter and that Captain Marley planned to stay at a place known as the Silver Spring Inn.

The party makes their way several blocks before a pair of Elynthi approach Enora, bowing and praising her for releasing Nosferian. She flees and the Elynthi - which turn out to be sailors - follow - their fellow sailors trailing along in their wake. The rest of the party shrugs and chases the sailors. Enora ducks into an alley and tries to hide. Jabari stumbles in the midst of the sailors before Thunderstepping away, killing them all. The noise draws the Legionnaires at which point Tehlan attempts to turn invisible. He is successful but also drawns a flock of pigeons to him. He take refuge in the harbor. Zeb watches from the shadows.
After some wandering about, the party finally reconvense at the Silver Spring in where they share drinks with the crew of the Evervictorious and retire for the evening.

Sixthday, Fourthden, the Harvest Moon, 748 AC

The party heads to the Nerrid Quarter, guided by a young tout. Upon their arrival they find that no one is at Sifshome but that she is expected later. The party pokes around the outside for a bit, verging on trespassing. Eventually, however, a tottering old Nerrid woman comes home and invites them inside for tea.   The inside of the home is obviously magical - everything seems to adjust in size as needed. The party makes themselves comfortable and tells their tale, asking Astrid for assistance as she was the last one known to possess a Tome of the Midnight Passage. Astrid admits to having the volume, but is unwilling to part with it until she better understands the party's intentions. In particular, she is concerned that Enora will betray everyone, citing one example after another of previous Elynthi trickery. She asks Enora to swear that she will use the tome to banish Nosferian. Enora refuses and the party leaves the home empty handed.
Even worse the Nerrid confectioner down the street is closed. Sighing, the party heads out into the evening, agreeing to sail for Yaty in order to see what the Elanthai Trading Company might know.
