BREAKING NEWS!

BRAWL AT THE HARBOR!

Sanitation Department marine transfer station at Pier 99 by Stephen Antonakos
  by Oscar Locke
Explosions rocked the Pier 99 area today as a battle broke out between some of the city's local heroes, the Knights Vigilant and what at first seemed to be a NYC maintaince crew.

But, as reported by eye witness accounts, the NYC employees were under guard by mysterious robotic creatures. Fluid and shape-shifting, they seemed to match the description of those that attacked the Museum of the City of New York.

Once the Knights Vigilant arrived, the quiet pier turned warzone. Ambushing the transfer station and its inhabitants, the heroes jumped into a pitched battle to rescue the captured maintenance crew and a mysterious diorama.

This diorama was reported to be made of styrofoam and other craft materials. Basic items found from any craft store. The diorama, which seemed to be the focus of the conflict, appeared to be copies New York City dioramas across the years. However the exact nature and detail of the diorama has yet to be confirmed. Police have only opened an investigation into the incident, yet an anonymous source close to the recent task force suggests it is related to the Orange Ooze incidents in Central Park.

Experts at Phoenix Industries and WayneTech indicate that the robotic devices may not be a single 'robot' as traditionally understood. This may be a new type of robotic device, such as a robotic 'hive mind' composed of millions of tiny devices. But this is speculation at this point.

It is expected that a sample of the recovered robotic devices will be sent for deeper study to one of the local NYC labs such as STAR Labs, Phoenix Industries, or SpecterCorp. Unoffical statements indicate that NYC's own Code Blue will be involved in the study.

But the question begs to be asked. Are these vigilantes, these 'heroes', a help to city beseiged by meta-powered or hi-tech criminals? Do they help curb such criminal problems?

Or are these heroes, like the Knights Vigilant, just another masked menace?

OOZE EXPOSE: ORIGIN OF THE OOZE, PT 4

by Meil Ming
In the continuing independent investigation into the Orange Ooze mutagen that threatens New York City's Central Park area, the Dawn Sun Register has uncovered more information concerning this chemical. The expose now had headed to Vibora Bay.

Analysis from Phoenix Industries is still pending, however unofficial sources suggest that the Orange Ooze mutagen did not originate in a lab but has a natural origin. Independent inquiries turned up information that the ooze may be related to smuggling operations in both the New York and Vibora Bay areas.

These smuggling activities have been tied to the Bonegrinders gang in Vibora Bay and the Golden Lotus organization in both New York and Vibora Bay. Reports from the authorities in Vibora Bay have suggested a tie between these mysterious Ivory Talons and the Bonegrinders. So far, this is only an unproven theory.

Questions among the locals along the Weston Shore district of Port Thicket in Vibora has turned up few leads. But eye witness source that wishes to remain anonymous, recounted acitivity around the Railroad Museum in the Weston Shore district. This activity included, among other things, transport of crates that were stained with the familiar orange glow of the Orange Ooze.

At this time, all leads point to Weston Shore district and the Vibora Bay Railroad Museum.

FROM THE BLOTTER

A collection of arrests were made at the Bow Bridge in Central Park following the discovery of a hidden chamber beneath the bridge.

The Golden Lotus members taken into custody were charged with operating a smuggling enterprise, unlawfully trespassing on a historical landmark, and possession of an invasive plant species. They were also charged with possession of a protected species. All charges center around the numerous Crystal Jade Vine plants found on the scene.

FROM THE BLOTTER continued ...
Status of the hidden chamber as a historical landmark is still in debate due to the lack of city records indicating the chamber even existed. But what few records that were found suggest that it falls under the city ordinance protecting historical landmarks.

POLITICS

The path forward the 'Licensed Hero' bill has been stalled citing property damages incurred from 'hero interference'. This concern was raised by none other than Lex Luthor of LexCorp and Normal Osborn of Oscorp. The concern was opposed by Michael Cavanaugh of Cavanugh Construction.

Currently, if passed, licensed heroes would be considered a 'consulting expert' law enforcement could tap into as a resource when needed. In a court of law, a hero would present themselves as their heroic alias as a credible expert for a case.

It's unclear at this time what means a hero would be able to identify themselves as a 'licensed' hero and how that would be validated.

STAR LABS / WAYNETECH PROTOTYPE TEST CONTNUES

Mid-day the new STAR Labs / WayneTech "Avatar" prototype took its first steps today outside the lab.

Fledgling research into the world of human to machine communication took a bold new step today with the joint progress reporting success as a 'drone pilot' was able to successfully manipulate a holographic drone under controlled conditions.

This hologram was, with limited success, able to allow the pilot to access and enter a hazardous area though a new neural interlink technology.
