Political event
With the historic proposal of Count Tsu Vorboccioni to emancipate clones brought before Emperor Gregor Vortapani and the Alliance of Worlds Council of Counts, the debates rage fiercely. Sides are taken, and lines are drawn sharply in the political sand.
Old rivalries push to the front lines of an otherwise peaceful engagement. All the while, from the shadows, a dark hand reaches out to gently pluck at the strings of power. A hand playing them like a dark harp singing a dirge for the living.
Meanwhile, it is Capital Season on Procopia. Amid the functions, meetings and other galas, tension hangs in the air like a dark cloud. There, amid the organized chaos of the season, a young Vor has undertaken the challenge of his life: he must try and teach a Drop Marine to waltz.
In one sweeping day, a single Imperial Navy lieutenant supported by a unit of clone troopers are sent to arrest every person from the Tor Ceti incident, on federal charges ranging from misdemeanor inter-county tariff violation to the capital charge of High Treason, generally in accordance with the defendant's current social rank. While Count Vorboccioni is quick to turn his manacled state to political advantage, others such as Lord Danar Vorpadaran and Warrant Officer Yeager Lexics go to great pains to keep their arrest procedures quiet and gentlemanly.
Ah, but the real impact on the fate of the Tapani government may not come from Yeager's invocation in the Council of his ancient right to Trial By Combat (with the gloriously undefeatable Captain Eleni Benacor as his champion) ... or even from Galactic Empire Emperor Kane's announcement of long-lost Count Dragomir Vorharkonnen, potential solicitor for the accused ... but of the new reach demonstrated as Matres Merglin repeatedly reaches through the Force to distantly, horribly influence good men's minds for her own nefarious schemes.
In honor of Capital Season, we have two pitchers of drinks: blue and red!
I have finally found a reason to like this planet.
They'll have their fingers on your personal bits!
Count Vorboccioni: {holds up manacles to cameras} And THIS is how VORMECETTI treats those who believe in the rights of sentients!
Vanya rolls her eyes heavenward
GM: Are you going to add anything to this?
Danar: {head shakes} I really CAN'T ... add anything ... to THAT
How'd he get out?!?
