Personal history
He was leading a group of soldiers passing through the Mountains when they stopped to rest at the Monastery of Mup'äqi Šä. There he lay his eyes on a fair maiden residing in there, and sought her company in the night in order to lie with her. However, when he undressed her, he came to notice she was no maiden, but a young man named Kauteirin, who was hiding there from conscription. He was ashamed that he had been tricked by the young man like this, so he decided to trick him back by forcing him to marry him. Thus he took Kauteirin with him as his wife, and made him swear he would never reveal his true sex to anyone.
Despite the start of their relationship the two men became close. He was a kind husband to her, and Kauteirin became his trusted advisor in secret. The two stayed married even after Kauteirin's true sex became known, and he became one of the key commanders in the War against the giants, helping Kauteirin and Daursan, his twin brother.
