The Islish House of Wisdom

The Islish House of Wisdom is the largest library in Qir established by a non-religious authority. It stands in central Old Islis and is administrated by delegates from House Shahzid, the Sandhawks in Old Islis, and the Old Islish Guard. The great library is said to have been established by the Sandhawks centuries ago, but this collaboration of three houses has led to its rise as one of Qir's most prominent houses of wisdom.

Purpose / Function

All five stories of each of the three interconnected structures of the Islish House of Wisdom are filled with more than twenty thousand texts of all kinds. The library also serves as a meeting place and debate hall for Qirish scholars, academics, and wise men. There is rumored to be space underneath the structures foundation, but its purpose is not public - Some suggest it is a Lotus Eater den, while others suggest it is a hall for the Sandhawks.

Architecture

The library is constructed mostly of sandstone brick, though some of the exterior walls are adorned with giant white marble slabs with inscriptions or chiseled artwork. The central structure features a hollow dome atop it constructed mostly of orange sandstone. The structures that flank it feature minarets atop them as vertical expansions to the library.
