Islis
Government
The government of Islis is semi-theocratic, where the military of Templar faith and the Qirish Circle which sustains it administratively is funded by a few powerful noble bloodlines. The relationship between these two bodies is fairly symbiotic, often to the detriment of the commoner that isn't intimately involved with either.
Defences
Islis is surrounded on its northern, western, and southern sides by sandstone walls. The southern wall extends to the east along the coast until it meets the natural Shamal Dune Wall, a tall permanent sand dune.
Infrastructure
Islis boasts the second busiest port in the region on its eastern border. Two oases sustain the city's population and have inspired huge, bustling bazaars. The rich Templar tradition within the city has spawned several notable cathedrals and libraries. The gigantic Mutar Oasis feeds sprawling gardens that serve to separate the Noble District from the middle city.
