Jabat

Demographics

A substantial portion of the population of Jabat are descendants of a former noble Islish bloodline of the same name. Within the past hundred years, the Jabat family left the Noble District due to political differences with the other noble houses and settled in Old Islis. The original migrants infused the new neighborhood with a vast amount of wealth, creating a higher society than what is typically found in Old Islis.   The neighborhood is also a popular stopover for travelers from the Ijinn due to The House of Hash. In the southern areas of Jabat, immigrants from Abul Urud have formed a substantial settlement.

Government

Direct descendants of the Jabat bloodline tend to serve as the "local government," of the neighborhood. Typically, informal laws tend to align with those of the Templars as a whole, making Jabat the least disruptive house of Old Islis, however this tends to draw the ire of other Old Islish houses in some respects. House Jabat tends to experience the most civil conflicts with the Old Islish Guard, a flagrantly anti-Templar and anti-noble house.

Defences

Jabat controls the eastern gate of Old Islis and therefore benefits from the protection of Islis' old walls on its northern border.

Architecture

Jabat has been developed in ambiguous mimicry of the Noble District in Islis, with structures being constructed in an organized manner out of white sandstone and granite.
