Sornevo
Sornevo is the traditional home of the nevus people, although this is largely a formality in the present time as they have largely integrated into society all across the globe. As such, the architecture is shorter and a lot of the basic technology operation is designed so that someone with a third arm would find it efficient. The weather is that of an average temperate climate, and the geography is varied, consisting of forests and hills and plains in almost equal measure.
The fascinating part is the sky. A number of fantastical effects can be seen nearly every day, ranging from fire rainbows to Aurora Borealis to mammatus clouds. Often these visual phenomena will form without the accompanying bad weather. There are literally hundreds of exquisite photography books based on the sky of this place.
The title used for a ruler is simply King or Queen. The current ruler of Sornevo is Queen Symetra. She is a petite woman, which comes as a contrast to earlier rulers of Sornevo, who usually liked to lord their height over the species that formed their primary power base. This insight, by the way, does include the “good” rulers, and even the ones who were actually good. It is an odd form of arrogance to have, but these are very strange people. Symetra styles herself queen of all nevuses, but this is hotly contested by those who use their services in any noticeable way. The nevuses themselves accept it, though.
A former queen was Pretha Zau, who was the instigator of the portal wars. At that time, about the year 1700, the country was counted as “good.”
The country’s symbol is their motto translated into archaic characters, written in large black lettering on a white background.
Sornevo was one of the Seven Kingdoms.
