The Holzreich is a Human Empire located in the Holz region of Orienta.

History
Unlike the Human Nations to its East, Holzreich was never a territory of the Imperial League. Despite the Human Rebellion commencing in Holz in large part thanks to the support of the Dwarves of Khel Doran, the local population already possessed a distinctive national identity owed to their relative freedom in comparison to their eastern kinsmen. As a result, the Holzreich was formed after the dismantling of the Elven Kingdoms in 1 IE. Tensions between Holzreich and The Imperial League were high, with whispers of war beginning to spread before the dissolution of the Imperial League due to the destruction of Skyreach and the subsequent Imperial Civil War.
Since its founding, Holzreich has maintained an uneasy alliance with Khel Doran, with occasional periods of strained relations such as during The Khel Doran Standoff.
Holzreich has historically had a hostile relationship with the Grand Duchy of Novaya, in part due to raids by Novayan Plainsfolk and partly due to Holzreich's territorial ambitions. These tensions have frequently escalated to war, in the First War for the Frontier, the Second War for the Frontier and the ongoing Third War for the Frontier.

Holzreich's territory is made up of the Holz region of The North, its lands spanning from the village of Wachter in the west to The Frontier in the east and to Khel Doran in the North.
Military
Holzreich maintains a standing, professional army known as the Reichguard. Furthermore, Holzreich makes extensive use of Dwarven mercenaries.
Technological Level
Holzreich is a technological giant, making great use of the knowledge shared with them by the Dwarves. This is reflected by Holzreich's powerful industry, with their metalworking ability unrivalled by the Human nations. The Reichguard make extensive use of firearms and field artillery, giving them a technological edge on the battlefield against their Novayan rivals.
Agriculture & Industry
Holzreich is an industrial power, utilising the rich deposits of metals in its mountains to produce steel and precious gems. Holzreich also has an exceptionally efficient lumber industry due to their use of advanced machinary, producing large amounts of wood.
