The Imperial League

The Imperial League was a human led Empire that was the dominant superpower in the North from 0IE to 12IE. The League's territory spanned from The Velvet Coast in the east, to The Frontier in the west, and Nordur to the North.

History

Following the victory of the Alerian Rebels in The Human Rebellion, Alerio was declared the first Emperor of The Imperial League. The first years of the League's existance were focused on establishing institutions such as the Imperial Senate and the various ministaries and public services that would aid in managing the League's vast population. From 10IE onwards, Alerio set his sights on bringing The Frontier and his homeland of Holz into the fold.

Disbandment

In 12IE, the Elven Sorcerer Vonketrol infiltrated the Imperial League with a band of Halenthan soldiers. Through unknown magical means, he reduced Skyreach to ashes in what would latter be known as The Devastation of Skyreach. Alerio, his daughter and youngest son, as well as the one million inhabitants of the city were killed. The ruins of the city still tingles with magical energies that make it impossible for non spellcasters to venture into without suffering horrific mutations or death. In the days after the destruction of Skyreach, Alerio's surviving sons were systematically assassinated leaving no clear line of succession. The Generals of the Imperial Army and burecrats of the Imperial Government were quick to declare themselves as custodians of The Imperial League, with the nation quickly devolving into infighting and civil war.
